Belated Valentine….

Hello Darlings,

Saint Valentine’s Day, although I do not love it nor hate it, I think that it is one day when you’re totally expected to be overtly cheesy. I do not like the idea of expecting grand romantic gestures from your sweetheart because that is what the rest of the world is doing. However, I do think that Valentine’s Day is awesome, as it presents an opportunity for couples to spend that extra time together and do something that is more “special”.

Romance…sure! But I still prefer the idea of fun over the idea of total lovey-dovey, overly-cheesy romance...

Liv by Au Lit: Media and Bloggers Soirée

Hello Darling,

The other night I attended Liv's private soirée for bloggers, stylist and media. Co-organized by Liv by Au Lit and the talented blogger + illustrator Danielle of Final Fashion. It was quite an interesting experience, considering this was my first blog related party :) To find out and see more pictures click here!

I am a little shy...I must admit. I was slightly intimidated at first but it was fun. *blush blush*

From Las Vegas With Love, part 2…

Hello Darlings,

First of all I would like to thank you all for your support on yesterdays post!!! I feel like this is my place to stand up for my personal beliefs and voice my opinion on certain matters, I'm not very good at overlooking things :P Thank you for your sweet words! I adore my blog and more so I adore the new friends ( all of you darlings) that I have made because of it :)

-----------------------------------------------------

This is the last part of my Las Vegas posts!

In the place of sunshine, hotness and dryness... the only thing that is left for a girl to do is stock up on sunscreen, purchase a floppy hat, consume ridiculous amounts of water and most importantly enjoy the beautiful weather :)

Lounging by the pool was probably the best way to beat the heat...and of course, finally have a chance to wear my new Brette Sandler silk cover up.

I am wearing: Brette Sandler silk cover up; Moschino Bikini ; Christian Audigier One piece swinsuit; Juicy Couture Flats; Coach Wristlet; Large Floppy hat from a random store.
Align Center

I am wearing:Kerrigan by Daryl K silk dress; Ruthie Davis Swarovski Crystal shoes; Coach Clutch

Despite a fact that I cannot handle heat and hate walking long distances, I made sure to bring 6 pair of heels and only 3 pairs of flats... brilliant thinking on my part :P Lesson learned, blisters happen after few hours of walking and dancing.... and those fabulous shoes you love so much become a torture device!!! ( Outchy) After experiencing my first blisters in many years after the first night of fun, I resorted to wearing my trusty flats up until the point of going to clubs.

I am wearing: Alexander Wang Chiffon Dress; Juicy Couture Flats;Coach Wristlet;Luc Kieffer Ring

Honestly, at first I could not bear the thought of wearing my favorite Wang dress or a newly favorite tutu skirt with flats... however, not only did I learn to love it, but I also came to understand that it could look undeniably cute and gives a certain touch of effortlessness to the entire ensemble..Honestly, I think that flats can look as wonderful as high heels... I know that this is the worst thing to say, since fashion dictates high heels is the most fabulous thing ever. I do find that flats are the best substitute that is just as beautiful and chic as high heels :) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE high heels... but being a student it is not very comfortable or practical. I do spoil myself by wearing heels to lecture only when I drive.

What do you darlings think? Can flats be as fabulous as high heels?
The big lessons learned:
- Heels are not worth wearing if you're going to cripple your feet!
- Wearing a floppy hat is a smart choice, not only to shield your face from the harmful rays but also to avoid heat stroke!

I am wearing: Maggie Ward Dress; Juicy Couture Flat; Gustto Cokera Purse; A.V. Max Cuff; Floppy Hat from a random store.

As for the rest of the vacation that was spent exploring, eating and lounging... I spent my time in flats and more casual attire! Including my all time favorite Meggie Ward dress... that I swear by! It looks amazing with everything, got to love those pieces that offer you endless variety. From casual to night out this dress is ideal!

I am wearing: Club Monaco Semi-Sheer Top; Abercrombie& Fitch Shorts; Bloch Patent Leather Flats; Chanel Sunglasses.

To top of almost every outfit I wore my floppy hat, religiously. I get heat strokes within minutes of being out in the hot weather. I never thought that I could pull it off or feel comfortable wearing it, but I fell in love. I know that fedora is a hat of the moment, but it made me feel like a teenage boy and really did not suit my style. Soooooo many people make it look a-m-a-z-i-n-g, I just felt awkward unfortunately. In comparison to the fedora, the floppy hat made me feel like a lady :)

By the way, if you're ever in Las Vegas check out the Bellagio fountains... I could watch them over and over and so I did. Andrew got pretty iffy about it :P Honestly, they are sooo stunning (click on the video belong and turn on the speakers). Also check out the Eiffel Tower, the views from there is beyond AMAZING!

I'm off to study French...school is back and stress is already building up!

I wish you all a stunning day!!!

With Love...

Romeo and Juliet + Dinner Party Fun…

Hello Darlings,

Today, was yet another dinner party at a restaurant followed by Romeo and Juliet Ballet. As for those of you living it Toronto, I would suggest that you get your tickets... the performance is absolutely incredible. Very visual and emotionally packed - you won't be able to take your eyes of the stage. I am still overwhelmed with excitement as to how wonderful it was :)

As for my outfit, well I went for simple...with a touch of sparkle :)

I love this dress in ways that cannot be explained...it is simple with a tint of sparkle and goes with everything and anything. Of course, I had to wear my leather jacket that I am in love with... I must admit that I never thought that a leather jacket would work for me but I finally understand why there's so much hype around leather jackets - they give character to the most boring outfit and of course, makes you feel like a " bad ass" ( lol).

I am wearing: Maggie Ward Dress; Mackage Leather Jacket;Club Monaco Cashmere Scarf; A.V. Max Gold Studded Cuff;CK Tights Coach Patent Leather Wristlet; Ruthie Davis " Screen" Heels with Swarovski Crystals

As for the details of my outfit: well, I wore my all time favorite shoes by Ruthie Davis. These shoes always make me feel like a princess and to match the patent leather of the shoe, I wore patent leather Coach wristlet. I really love how the Swarovski crystals on the heels go perfectly with the sparkle of the dress and the patents leather adds a bit a little something to the entire outfit. I kept everything else, including hair and make up, fairly simple.... just the way I like it, simple with beautiful details :)

Tomorrows plan is to spend sometime in Art Gallery of Ontario for my art critique assignment...I am really excited to go, because the gallery was just re-do my Frank Gehry- so I can't wait to see that he did with it. I will try to take some pictures .

I wish you all a lovely and fun weekend :)

With Love...

Malanka … :)

Hello Darlings,

Well, it has been an eventful and fun month... I couldn't have asked for more, expect the black tie event that I attended on Saturday. Which was amazing ...

The event is a yearly tradition within the Ukrainian community...it is also our New Years. This year was my third year attending it.... and it was truly an amazing way to finish an amazing holiday season. The event is known as Malanka.

Past Malanka's
For my first Malanka I wore an amazing BCBG Max Azria dress....( My blonde days)

As for the next year, I decided to wear a short, simple dress from Robert Rodriguez....

This Malanka...

The Alexander Wang dress that I bought back in October was specifically for this event...I paired it with my patent leather Ruthie Davis Swarovski encrusted shoes....

Photobucket

...and to bring it all together with an adorable patent leather Coach wristlet courtesy of my parents.

I am wearing:
Alexander Wang Dress
Ruthie Davis Swarovski encrusted patent leather heels
Coach patent leather wristlet
A.V.MAX studded cuff
Diamond stud

I kept the jewelry to a minimum.... only a studded cuff and diamond studs. As for my hair... I got it done in a salon, but I wish I didn't. Every year, I say the same thing.... but always end up paying $70 to get my hair curled almost in the same way that I always wear it naturally, but this time I added a braid which looked like a headband but it was too small to see ....I was kind of disappointed. As for make up I kept it to a minimal ..... trying to stay away from the usual evening make up that people tend to wear to such events.....

I was going for a young, fresh and fun look....
P.S. More vacation wardrobe photos are coming up... :)

I wish you all a beautiful day!!!

With Love....

” Shoe whore” … :S

Fashion designers are notorious for creating shoes that are impossible to walk on and it seems that lately stiletto's got taller and skinnier, platforms even more clunkier and the overall designs stranger than ever. Dangerous and outrageous footwear has become the latest must have. But the question is : HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO FOR FASHION? Is it worth hurting yourselves for the sake of fashionable shoes?

When it comes to me, I am a " shoe whore" that has always wanted a pair of crazy, outrageous but ooh so beautiful heels that I would wear once in a blue moon. BUT... I would never sacrifice my feel for the sake of a crazy trend, neither would I ever buy a pair that was uncomfortable ( the reason why I mostly wear Kors, since they are crazy - comfortable). As a compromise between obsession and comfort, I set out to find a classic pair with a twist... which to me seemed impossible....

But that changed when I came across a beautiful pair of Davis by Ruthie Davis Mary Jane's. Ruthie Davis designs hold technological innovation, architectural precision, and a sleek aesthetic sensibility - in one word, they are WORKS OF ART that come with quite a price tag ( cost between $600-800). I could not resist the shoes or a fact that they were on sale. Although they are in a classic Mary Jane style, they do come with a twist that I was craving. The shoes are smalto pearlized patent leather with a 4.5" architectural heel that is accented with Swarovski crystals and contains a chrome metal insert. I love the shoes so much and still obsess about them...
