Alone Time…

Hello Darlings,

In the midst of academic chaos, it is always wonderful to find the time to relax and unwind. Regardless of how much I adore my field of study, it does get overwhelming and frustrating at times. I am sure that every single one of us has been or is in such a situation.I don't have much time on my hands and every day seems to be short on hours, so when it comes to down time I prefer to spend it at home with my family or in the company of my closest friends. It is always wonderful to have a solid support system and those that genuinely care.

However, there are times when one just wants to be alone, in such cases there are a few places/activities that I find myself doing. Since I've received quite a few requests for my favorite "alone-time" activities, I've decided to share my favorite eight...

Last Days of Summer…

Hello Darlings,

For the past month, I've been hopelessly waiting for the arrival of fall and all the beautiful layering pieces that come with it. However, as the last day of summer passed by I couldn't help but feel a bit nostalgic for those beautiful summer days and breezy dresses. Confusing, I know!

I am not sure if it's my inability to transition or the feeling that I am stuck in a style rut but I am stalling....constantly turning to my daily uniform of jeans, ballerinas and a cashmere. That would also explain my lack of posts which I've been struggling to complete. But no worries darlings, I feel like I have regained my stylistic inspiration...and ready to attack the daily dilemma of "closet full of clothes and nothing to wear" head on :D . It's amazing how much one can philosophize about clothes, and I am not even going to go into the topic of shoes.

But then again, where else is the girl to unleash her absolute guilty pleasure of ranting about all things fashion and beautiful if not on the blog. So shall we...

Modern Dilemma of Flares…

Hello Darlings,

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend :) As for me, I just got in from a day of successful shopping and could not be anymore excited! Besides a fact that I rediscovered my love for Burberry flairs, but also managed to score two pieces from Wilfred's Little Moon line on a wicked sale. It's amazing how little I need to feel a huge amount of happiness :P Just kidding, but it is true that the smallest things in life can make me ridiculously happy. Such as hearing the perfect song on the radio, coming across the cutest cafe, waking up an hour too late, managing to meditate for 30 minutes with no distractions, and of course to spend an extra minute or two with family and friends.

Disposable Fashion…

Hello Darlings,

Every morning, I have a ritual.I always put on my make- up at the comfort of my bed, while watching TV and getting my regular dose of caffeine. Afterward, I walk into my closet...dwell on the idea of what to wear, then realize I am running late and throw on the first thing that catches my eye. So this morning, was like every other... I opened my closet door, walked in and reached for my pair of knee high boots and a fuzzy jacket and then giggled to myself. The boots were a predictable choice, since I tend to wear the newly purchased shoes everyday for the first week ... I know, I know I shouldn't favor my shoes, it is not nice...but I do :( But my second reach was for none-other than the fuzzy jacket! To be brutally honest....

Formula that always works…

Hello Darlings,

Some things just need to stay simple...when I am overwhelmed with school, the last thing I need is extra worrying about what to wear. Although it would be a miracle if I could wake up and know exactly what to wear instead of walking into my closet...making a complete mess, sort out a million things on my bed and always end up late, in a rush and somewhat dissatisfied with what I wore. I always have a feeling that I know exactly what I want to wear but as soon as I step into that closet... I am overwhelmed! With a walk-in full of clothes ... It feels like I don't have anything to wear?!!!???? It drives me nuts!!!!

I know ladies that many of you feel this way in the mornings as well....so what is your secret or that perfect thing that you always reach for in such cases??? You know, the formula that always work????

I am wearing:Club Monaco tee (underneath); Soia&Kyo Charlie Jacket; Corpus Skinnies; Ed Hardy Scarf; Pedro Garcia Mary Janes; Gap Leather Purse; Pearl Earrings; Diamond Ring courtesy Ice.com Jewelers; Chanel Sunglasses.

For me that formula is simple.... skinny jeans, simple tee, cute jacket, scarf, heel/flats., sunglasses. It is always a variety of the sameness. To a certain degree awesome, since I know it works but at the same time I feel bored... knowing that I can always resort to my safe bet. Plus, these new babies are becoming my absolutely favorites and I don't seem to be willing to take them off... they are soooooo comfortable it still amazes me :)

However, I have a plan of action:

- Re-organize my closet..and make a post on it( yup, I will have a post coming up talking about different ways I organize my walk-in as a few of you have requested)
- Draw some inspiration from my favorite Fall 09 fashion shows and random sources.
- Settle down with school work and prevent it from overwhelming me. First weeks are the hardest, always.
- Go shopping with mommy!
- Remember: Breeze and Relax!!!

Well, I am off to read....

I wish you all a stunning day!!!

With Love...

dVb Jeans and finding the perfect pair…

Hello Darlings,

" More than any other piece of clothing, jeans can show off your figure to its best" -Victoria Beckham,18

After a day of shopping and running errands... I am more in love with these Beckham jeans than I ever expected. Victoria Beckham really does understand the female body and the concept of creating flattening pair of jeans. I really feel feminine in them-plus they hug every curve and hides every flaw. Since I was amazed at how wonderful her jeans are, I decided to revisit her book "That Extra Half and Inch" and share with you some of her suggestions to finding a perfect pair, fit, wash and style.

♥Check the Waist Band

- The waistband shouldn't be too thick and heavy because it will dig painfully into hips and that gives everyone the hated muffin-top look.
- Check that the waistband doesn't do that annoying gaping thing at the back, either, as you'll end up with a weird wind-tunnel effect.
- Look for jeans that are cut higher at the back so not only do they not gape but also they don't give you builder's bottom every time you sit.

♥Please-No Bagging
- Jeans that bag around the knees or bottom are another fashion disaster and it's amazing how many designer's don't pay attention to this.
- I always make sure my jeans have just a bit of stretch to them (but not too much that they bag), are narrow around the leg and give shape to the bottom instead of squashing it down.

♥Get The Length Right
- With heels, the bottom of your jeans should just skim your toes, as that will give a good couple of inches of length to your legs.
- With flats, jeans should end almost at the tip of the shoe, maybe even just graze the ground, and break almost at your toes.

♥Color Me Beautiful
- White looks fresh and funky for summer, but be wary as sometimes whit jeans can make your things look larger than they actually are.
- Subtle shade of powder blue and pale gray are interesting too and look best in skinny drainpipe or high-waisted styles.
- Black jeans are great as long as you get them in a good cut-slim styles are best, remember: skinny black is sexy rock'n'roll; baggy black tends to be a bit roadie and quite unflattering.

♥Sizing
- Whatever your size, it is important to firstly try your jeans on to make sure they fit, and secondly buy the right size regardless of the number.

♥ From High Street to High Fashion
- As a general guideline I recommend buying one pair of straight-leg or boot-cut jeans and one pair of skinny.

♥ Jeans what to buy
1. Great Buy
- Cheap Monday/ Florence and Fred/H&M/ Kate Moss for Topshop/ Lee/ New Look
2. Hot Label
- Acne/ Diesel/ Fornarina/ Miss Sixty/ Notify/Serfontaine
3. Super Luxe
- Chloe/ dVb/ McQ/Sass&Bide/ Stella Mc Cartney/ Superfine

"I wanted to create a collection of denim that essentially combined both style and comfort whilst looking desirably gorgeous and glamorous."
- Victoria Beckham,21

And so she did....

... after a day of shopping. I felt absolutely amazing wearing them. Although the jean does have a flare to it, I absolutely love how long it makes my legs look. The jeans are definitely the object of attention in this outfit... I was going for a simple look but the jeans gave the outfit an interesting twist. I also must say that I really love the little stars on the behind pockets... :)

I am wearing: dVb Skinny Flare Jeans; Abercrombie&Fitch Sweater; Michael Kors Heels; Gustto Cokera Purse; Diamond Ring courtesy Ice.com Jewelers;Accessories&Beyond Bracelets; Ray Ban Wayfarers ( gift from Andrew)

Well, I am off to run a few errands and then spend sometime in the pool...
