Leave it to a Pro…

Hello Darlings,

Today was spent in the library killing my head with French, honestly all that I can say is do not start a language in a university. It really does take too much time from the rest of the work. Anyways, moving on.... following my grueling study session and an exam, it was all about Halloween costume hunt! And yep, I found myself a costume! So excited :) I love dressing up, I am such a kid at heart.

Getting to the point...because I can ramble for hours :P I always receive a lot of e-mails about two of my Mackage jackets which I am always happy to answer each individually. However, I decided to make a general post just in case others are curious or do not feel comfortable e-mailing ( although I really do love getting e-mails from you!)

The Age of Innocence…

Hello Darlings,

Some days are just filled with activities that one truly loves, such as shopping, reading and swimming. Today was one of those days for me!!!
After finally having the time to finishing Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence and taking few minutes to skim through the book and write out my favorite quotes - yup, I have a journal where I write down all of my favorite quotes - I went on to start Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise.

As for my thoughts on The Age of Innocence.....

Well, I simply loved it. However I love every classic that I read. I have a strong belief that classic literature can never be bad because it withstood the test of time. The Age of Innocence is the first novel by a woman to win the Pulitzer Prize, it exquisitely details the struggle between love and responsibility through the experiences of men and women in Gilded Age New York. Wharton's profound understanding of her character's lives makes the triangle of Archer, May and Ellen come to life with an irresistible urgency. A wry, incisive look at the ways in which love and emotion must negotiate the complex rules of high society. The book is wonderful read that provides a unique sense of the past society that shaped the famous New York city.
Speaking of of The Age of Innocence, I came across this quote that I found to be very amusing....

"Ah, well, Boston is more conservative than New York; but I always think it's safe rule for a lady to lay aside her French dresses for one season."
- Edith Wharton

It's amazing how quickly the times change, it was unfit for a lady to wear a new dress for at least a year, however now we wear things right of the racks and purchase our winter stuff in the summer and our summer stuff in the winter. Our times have become so rapid that the seasons no longer play any importance as the designers are producing their winter and resort collection in the spring/summer of the previous year. Everything nowadays is in such a rush. Everything is becoming like a fast food market - easy, fast and ready to go in 5 minutes! Is our world becoming too fast that even we can't catch up with it? Sometimes that's what it feels like...

As I went out to pick up few things for my Vegas Birthday weekend,I couldn't help but be frustrated at all of the boots and jackets that I came across. It is high 20s outside and I can't help but think of winter clothes... honestly, I even heard two women discussing their X-mas list. I mean come on, Christmas? This is becoming too depressing....it feels like everyone if getting too ahead of themselves. Can't we just relax, breathe and take 5 minute to just be?

Personally, I am one of those people that can find peace and calm in the middle of the of chaos. That perfect calm moment usually happens over a cup of espresso and a book...sometimes taking those minutes is all you need. When shopping with my mommy , we take 5 minutes to stop by Godiva and pick up Dark Chocolate Decadence-it became a tradition. Those 5 minutes is all you need to restart and reboot, and of course satisfy the sweet-tooth.

Speaking of winter and fall... I have found the most perfect pair of flat Kors boots, they are sooo awesome :) Totally excited about them! I know, I know.... I am getting ahead of myself, but I just couldn't pass by them when they were on a 65% off sale and I wanted them since last winter but couldn't justify spending $500 on a 5th pair of boots for that year. So I got them for this year... with a much better deal :)

I am wearing: dvb skinny flare jeans; E community top from Aritzia; Kimberly Baker Dove Necklace; Accessories& Beyond Bracellets in Gold; Michael Kors Heels; Gustto Cokera Purse; Chanel Sunglasses.

dVb Jeans and finding the perfect pair…

Hello Darlings,

" More than any other piece of clothing, jeans can show off your figure to its best" -Victoria Beckham,18

After a day of shopping and running errands... I am more in love with these Beckham jeans than I ever expected. Victoria Beckham really does understand the female body and the concept of creating flattening pair of jeans. I really feel feminine in them-plus they hug every curve and hides every flaw. Since I was amazed at how wonderful her jeans are, I decided to revisit her book "That Extra Half and Inch" and share with you some of her suggestions to finding a perfect pair, fit, wash and style.

♥Check the Waist Band

- The waistband shouldn't be too thick and heavy because it will dig painfully into hips and that gives everyone the hated muffin-top look.
- Check that the waistband doesn't do that annoying gaping thing at the back, either, as you'll end up with a weird wind-tunnel effect.
- Look for jeans that are cut higher at the back so not only do they not gape but also they don't give you builder's bottom every time you sit.

♥Please-No Bagging
- Jeans that bag around the knees or bottom are another fashion disaster and it's amazing how many designer's don't pay attention to this.
- I always make sure my jeans have just a bit of stretch to them (but not too much that they bag), are narrow around the leg and give shape to the bottom instead of squashing it down.

♥Get The Length Right
- With heels, the bottom of your jeans should just skim your toes, as that will give a good couple of inches of length to your legs.
- With flats, jeans should end almost at the tip of the shoe, maybe even just graze the ground, and break almost at your toes.

♥Color Me Beautiful
- White looks fresh and funky for summer, but be wary as sometimes whit jeans can make your things look larger than they actually are.
- Subtle shade of powder blue and pale gray are interesting too and look best in skinny drainpipe or high-waisted styles.
- Black jeans are great as long as you get them in a good cut-slim styles are best, remember: skinny black is sexy rock'n'roll; baggy black tends to be a bit roadie and quite unflattering.

♥Sizing
- Whatever your size, it is important to firstly try your jeans on to make sure they fit, and secondly buy the right size regardless of the number.

♥ From High Street to High Fashion
- As a general guideline I recommend buying one pair of straight-leg or boot-cut jeans and one pair of skinny.

♥ Jeans what to buy
1. Great Buy
- Cheap Monday/ Florence and Fred/H&M/ Kate Moss for Topshop/ Lee/ New Look
2. Hot Label
- Acne/ Diesel/ Fornarina/ Miss Sixty/ Notify/Serfontaine
3. Super Luxe
- Chloe/ dVb/ McQ/Sass&Bide/ Stella Mc Cartney/ Superfine

"I wanted to create a collection of denim that essentially combined both style and comfort whilst looking desirably gorgeous and glamorous."
- Victoria Beckham,21

And so she did....

... after a day of shopping. I felt absolutely amazing wearing them. Although the jean does have a flare to it, I absolutely love how long it makes my legs look. The jeans are definitely the object of attention in this outfit... I was going for a simple look but the jeans gave the outfit an interesting twist. I also must say that I really love the little stars on the behind pockets... :)

I am wearing: dVb Skinny Flare Jeans; Abercrombie&Fitch Sweater; Michael Kors Heels; Gustto Cokera Purse; Diamond Ring courtesy Ice.com Jewelers;Accessories&Beyond Bracelets; Ray Ban Wayfarers ( gift from Andrew)

Well, I am off to run a few errands and then spend sometime in the pool...

Exit Strategy…

Hello Darlings,

I was so excited to read your replies regarding the "high-maintenance" post and you darlings made my day!!! I enjoyed reading every single one of your responses and I very thankful for being able to interact with so many interesting and inspiring people. Getting to know each and every single one of you is truly a blessing :)
As for the outfit, well this is what I wore for a night out in the city with Andrew.I was going for a subtle sexy look.

I settled for all black outfit, since I wanted my accessories to be the focal point. The heels, purse, bracelets and watch were all gold-tone and the scarf had gold threading it in. To make the outfit more fun, I chose a top that had a bit of a surprise.

I picked up this top at Aritzia on sale from $45 for $35, it has a beautiful open back but comes with black sash that can create numerous different looks. The top is pretty casual and simple but can be easily dressed up. It is definitely a top that make a memorable exit and creates a very subtle and sensual look.In one word, it's me: simple but with interesting detail. And not to forget this gorgeous Anemira Concept silk scarf was a gift from Turkey- It is sooo beautiful!!!

P.S. you can see the little braid!

The main focus of the outfit were my new Be&D shoes...I think that they brought together the entire outfit and gave it a more going out feel. I picked these babies on Forward by Revolve. I love Forward, it is a sister store of Revolve Clothing and features more upscale designers. Their service is phenomenal and Canadian 3-6 day shipping is FREE. Plus, they have the best sales on designer wear, especially shoes!

I am wearing: Anemira Concept Silk Scarf; E Community Top; Talula Shorts; Mackage "Lean" Jacket; Be&D Antonia Heels; Gustto Cokera Purse;Accessories& Beyond Bracelets; Raymond Weil Diamond watch ( my mommy's but I steal it from her too often).
Overall, I felt comfortable and great...I even tried something new with my hair. I added few tiny braids, that were not very visible but were an interesting and fun element.
P.S. I am truly overwhelmed at how supportive you've been of my Elle Canada contest pages, for that I would like to THANK each and every single one of you.... If I actually win this contest, I will definitely have a little surprise for you darlings as a thank you - This is the part I am most excited about!!!

From day to night…

Hello Darlings,
Well today was rather a relaxing and fun day.... First, I had a shopping date with my mommy and later a Starbucks date with Andrew.

DAY...

As my favorite stores continue to have amazing sales, I continue to slowly pick up items that will transition me into the fall. Yup, I always buy ahead.

Today, I stopped by quite a few stores in Yorkdale, including Zara and I must admit I was in shock. The store looked like a tornado went through it, I've never see much a mess before. The clothe were on the floor, in big piles on the tables and scattered all over the place. I mean really... just because something is on sale does not mean that it is any less valuable. As I walked around the store not being able to wrap my head around... I felt disappointed. I've heard amazing things about Zara from other blogger's, but the way I saw it today and the was customers were completely neglected was enough to discourage me from going back there for a LONG time.

So my question goes out to you my darlings, would terrible organization of a store and poor customer service discourage you from going back to it or from buying there(in that moment/future)???

Personally, I was so irritated by the mess.... I had to leave. I am not very picky about these things, but it was ridiculous. I've seen a mess during boxing day but nothing like this.

EVENING...
As for today's outfit, well I love wearing clothe that do not require much effort and transition from day to night. I am a firm believer that it is better to be overdressed then under-dressed :) . That's mainly the reason why I love AA Disco pants, they are unique and totally spice up any outfit. The only difference that I settled for is my hair, I put in into a neat ponytail and added a cute bow headband-not sure why I did it, but I did :P

I am wearing: Susana Monaco Top; American Apparel Disco Pants;Mackage Leather Jacket; Bloch Patent Leather flats; Gustto Cokera Purse; Accessories&Beyond Bracelets ( wore during the day); A.V. Max Cuff (wore in the evening); diamond studs ( wore in the evening); H&M headband.

P.S.Thank you all for your support of my Elle Canada pages... If you haven't had a chance to check them out... Click HERE.Thanks a million!!! If I actually win this contest, I will definitely have a little surprise for you darlings as a thank you - This is the part I am most excited about!

I wish you all a lovely day!!!
