Spring/Summer Inspirations: Color Trends
Hello Darlings,
Well, I went through every spring fashion show on style.com and chose some of my favorite trends and looks - from pants, to skirt, to dresses, to top, shoes, and accessories - from which I will definitely draw my inspiration. Subtlety was a signature look this season, with styles that showcased beautiful hues, colors, and patterns.
Nudes
Nudes played a key role on the spring ’09 runways. The trend is subtle and sexy, but only when it is not over done. Meaning, if you are going to be wearing head to toe nude, well then you better cover some skin.
Whites
White has always been a summer color, since it is light and breezy.
Just be sure to have a Tide Pen to avoid embarrassing situations.
Christian Lacroix; Dolce&Gabbana; Givenchy; Givenchy; Zac Posen
Neutrals
Well, we all love neutrals, because they are just perfect, well at least to me
Pastels
Simply beautiful… I love pastel colors, they are so girly and feminine.
John Galliano; Gucci; Versace; Dolce & Gabbana; Alexander McQueen.
Blues
Blue, although not my favorite color, it is all over the runways in different shades.
Metallics
Perfect for going out….
Sherbets
Perfect summer colors… bright and loud. ( I am so obsessed with that highlighter pink Berardi dress)
Stripes
I am not sure when they are not in style…
but I am sure loving a fact that they are so in this season.
Prints
Artsy, geometrical,floral…in beautiful bright colors.
I am so in love with Cavalli floral china-like print - so unique.
Nina Ricci; Christian Dior; YSL; La Perla
Sheers
Although, not a color… sheer is in, mostly in subtle neutral colors. It is definitely one of those trends that are difficult to pull off and is usually done wrong, but when it is done in a proper way then it looks absolutely amazing.

Fabulous post, looking forward to reading your to buy list.

i love your blog, but definitely is not spelled “definately”.
hi
nice blog, love the shoes
I am definitely about NUDES, PASTELS, SHERBERT HUES, BLUES, PRINTS AND SHEER. I need to seriously rip apart my closet and see if I have anything that fits into these catagories.
I need nude pants. Damn my no buying clause!
PS I know you recommended Revolve Clothing to me (love) but I must recommend ShopBop to you (though I am sure you know of it). I ordered a Marc Jacobs zipper pencil skirt from there one afternoon while at work.
It was in my work mailbox THE NEXT DAY! Holy moly, even mailing a letter across town doesn’t move THAT fast, from freakin’ Wisconsin to Vancouver, no doubt. Amazing!
(AND no duties…wtf?)
wow, what a fabulous post! I love the versace blue, balmain white and the nude Lim
All of them are so perfect-great picks!!
wow amazing post!!!!!!!!

Anon 10:17:Thank you so much.English is my second language and I still miss these mistakes, thanks for pointing it out - I will make sure to keep it in my mind.
thank you and hope you have a wonderful day
English is your second language? Ooh exotic! Actually I was always spell stupid words wrong all the time - and I’ve got a degree in Journalism!
Actually Shopbop was $36 and I’m pretty sure that must have included the duties and taxes. Either way, it saved me from paying the duties and taxes AND took just a day to get to me. Great if you find a good bargain
how cool are those cage shoes!?
Nah, no codes though you may wanna check http://www.retailmenot.com I think they have coupons for some stores?
Yeah the skirt I bought was $118 and the shipping was $36. Not sure if they go through a flat rate or not or by weight. Either way, it was next day delivery and there were no fees. And it was by UPS. The week before my shoes came by UPS from Bluefly. Those cost $99 and I had to pay $33 in duty so I’m hoping it wasn’t a fluke for Shopbop!
Lemme know if you get anything, they are having a big sale too!
You did an amazing job making this editorial. It’s really fun to look at and pretty informative!
I love your comment about the tide pen….I have one of those, and let me tell you, it has come in handy….especially with coffee…lol…I love the white looks and the pastels! The sherbets are fun too!
Gorgeous clothes. I think I need to get myself a Tide pen! I’ve just discovered your lovely blog and can’t wait to read more
