It's your big day — you've been asked to do a job interview, your boss requested to meet, or you are presenting your amazing ideas at a conference. Regardless of the scenario, you want to make a positive impression! And, what you wear will set the tone for the entire occasion. It may be hard to believe a skirt, pant-suit, or a blouse can have such an influence, but fact is they can! What you wear will not only put you in a positive self-assured frame of mind, but it will portray the image you want your colleagues to have.

In my case, one big occasion was speaking at a conference for the first time last week. Marketing Magazine invited me to speak at their annual Branded Content Conference on the topic of " Who Owns Content?" In the company of Bruce MacLellan, President of of Environics Communications, Walder Amaya of Evolve Media and Pierre-Bernard Dow-Blanchet of CloudRaker, we debated the production of branded content and the most effective ways to engage the audience.

With the many runway shows and events at Montreal Fashion Week - followed immediately by the whirlwind Toronto International Film Festival ("TIFF") - keeping up with feeling and looking fabulous has been a real challenge! Part of what's so appealing is not just the films and shows, it's meeting so many interesting people, and of course the glitzy and glamorous parties. From sunrise to sundown, the past two weeks I've had as many as six things to attend daily, so this girl is tired :)

Question: what's a girl to do when time is not on her side? Well, I wast wondering this during the first week and came up with a few tricks that made a difference.

After two super hectic weeks – with Toronto International Film Festival and Montreal Fashion Week – this girl needs some rest and relaxation. So next week, I am taking a few “me” days at Blue Mountain Resort in the countryside just north of Toronto!
