Revolve Clothing = a big NO NO!!!
Hello Darlings,
I’ve adored Revolve Clothing for a long time especially for their variety. Well, that love affair ended this month. Their slow shipping never bothered me, but every order this month was screwed up.
I thought to share my experience since I have recommended this site, but I don’t anymore. That’s right I am “breaking up” with Revolve Clothing.
Exhibit One
I ordered Dittos Skinny Suzie jeans three weeks ago. They arrived only today and what a nightmare - I ordered 24 but the jeans are way too big. Their size chart stated the waist is 24″ but they are at least 27″. So I contacted customer service to pay for my return because they provided is inaccurate information… they said the size chart is only a reference… and won’t refund my return fee. IMO, if you order online - the size chart is like a Bible, you base your decision on it. Revolve Clothing thinks otherwise….
Exhibit Two
I found this pair and love them (perfect for summer) plus they were 50% off.. After three days waiting for them to be shipped, Revolve e-mailed stating they can’t find them…. They found them a WEEK LATER. And now, it’s been a week since they shipped out and still no shoes…

Exhibit Three
I’ve been obsessed with these adorable Bloch flats and decided to buy them but guess what - REVOLVE CAN’T FIND THEM EITHER…. If I knew this would happen again, I would have ordered from Net-a-Porter. What happened to Revolve? Instead of doing their best to stay on top during the recession, they do the opposite. ADVICE TO REVOLVE EXECS: Hire new staff who know the meaning of polite, and get organized. I don’t care that you’re re-organizing your warehouse … yup, that ‘s the excuse they gave me!

Where to shop on line? What are your favorite sites?
Marta

Oh how utterly frustrating. I agree, when shopping online, size chart HAS to be bible, I mean, we can hardly reach through our screen, grab the clothes and try them on.
The very least they can do is offer free returns on purchases such as that.
I hope you can get things sorted. I have seen their site, but shipping to UK is super expensive,
but I think to post this is 100% useful and fair.
oh dear, thanks for the advise i will definitely stay away from them!
I do love Topshop, they have a US website now but i’m sure if they ship to canada.
ps 24″ waist? wow! not surprising really as you are absolutely gorgeous!
yuck, I’m so sorry for the problems with Revolve clothing-I’ve actually never had a problem with them so I don’t know if it’s just lately or what…your issues should have never happened. Ugh. Hopefully, it gets resolved (aka they get shipped to you soon)-over a week is ridiculous even if it’s Canada! On a positive note-I love your purchases
That’s truly terrible but you know what? I think sizing is a big problem now. The sizing is getting smaller even though we are not. I think there should be global or nation wide sizing or something so that we don’t have these problems. It is such a waste of our time! AIie! I hope you get what you’re looking for
Looking forward to the outfit post!
I feel you have every right to be upset. In this economy, to not have top notch customer service is unacceptable. Especially with a loyal customer who is placing a large order. Seriously, they cannot refund or pay the shipping on a return due to inaccurate sizing?! What are they thinking?! And how are they losing track of merchandise!? Again, in this economy, they should be thankful customers are buying and really take better care of inventory. I live in the US and buy online from Shopbop.com and bluefly.com. I’m not sure of shipping to Canada. How disappointing. I have to seriously say that after reading your blog and watching your posts, I found myself checking out Revolve.com more often. I will no longer based on the poor customer service. It’s not worth it. If I’m going to spend my hard earned dollars on a clothing/accessory purchases, I want the store to be top quality. Thanks for your insight!!
Thank you for writing about this. I was planning to order from Revolve Clothing in the future but after reading about this situation and how poorly it was handled I doubt I ever will. I don’t want to trust my money with such flip-flop “service”.
hey! i just saw the ballet flats on chickdowntown- for $100! hope this helps!

Caroline: the one’s for $100 are for kids and the adult one ( $163) are sold out in my size…. I swear it is just not my day. Thank you so much for letting me know though
I will definately check out this site for more stuff
aw thank you for this post. i heard about revolve through you and was planning on purchasing some stuff.. but i really can’t stand flaky services, so i’d spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
Honestly, its quite ridiculous that they will not handle the fees for you to return the jeans. I would put up a fight with you as you clearly as a loyal customer and place big orders. It’s really unfair and bad service on their part.
Also, good for you for blogging about this because its good to send the msg out!
I have never had a problem with them, although its been a while since i got something there. I go now with bigger stores just because of the reliability and service. Bergdorf, Barneys, Neiman and Nordstrom are pretty good. Shopbop.com is good too.
I love shopbop and net-a-porter. shopbop has free shipping and good sales, but they run out of stuff fast. :/
Aww I’m so sorry hun! I really hate companies that don’t bear with their customers. Really bad customer service on their part. It’s their responsibility to keep their customers happy and you shouldn’t be going out of your way at all! Just because the economy is not doing well doesn’t mean they have to lessen their standards
Anyway I do a lot of online shopping with Forever 21, American Apparel, Tobi, Urban Outfitters, Bluefly, Topshop, Miss Selfridge. I think they all have pretty good customer service but UPS has lost a package from AA before and that case is still open and I am waiting for something to happen. Other than that, they have all been decent. I hope you find a new store
Oh, I know how frustrating must be especially since it’s not some cheap store. But it’s their loss, honey, you have such a wide variety available.
wow
that is entirely too frustrating.
I would have given up after the first bad order.
I’m tired of shopping online, its an addiction of mine that needs to stop because I have no clue where all my money is going
Oh you poor thing that is so frustrating!!
I am in the same situation (and have been for months) with shiekh shoes.
I bought some gorgeous heels that I was simply dying to have. They charged my credit card and said they would send them the next day and they would let me know. 5 days past and I had no news, so I rang them and they told me they haven’t sent them yet but they will.
A week later I got an email saying they were out of stock would I like to choose a different pair or get a refund, I immediately asked for a refund as I no longer trusted them.
- Well it has been months and after numerous phone calls and emails I still have no received my money.
My bank is now “investigating” the situation!
Its hard to know which internet companies you can trust, isn’t it?
So re the jeans, if you want them and are totally in love I say alter them. You shouldn’t have to pay to return them - thats their responsibility for sending you faulty jeans. If they advertise the jeans are a 24″ waist then that is what they MUST be!
Good luck with everything x
Very frustrating,love the last pic
xx
oh my god so sorry marta. i was planning to order something there yesterday, but hesitated. thanks for this. i hope you do find the perfect little online store. with customer service you deserve. it’s their loss anyway.
oh wow.. what terrible customer service… sorry to hear!! have you tried shopping with shopbop? i’ve only ordered one thing through them.. but i got a great deal.. and it seemed to come in promptly..
once i ordered a pair of shoes on ninewest… and they couldn’t find them either… made me sad.
Your blog is wonderful by the way-I just found it.
I have a pair of BLOCH ballet flats for everyday that I adore. They are so simple and comfy. It brings me back to my ballet days..
Love the black and white…

I use this blog to help me find great deals. Cheers!
Neither.
Push them until they give you the right size.
I just cannot do shopping online. I have to see it and touch it.
That’s terrible. You spent good money on those jeans and now you can’t use them. Perhaps you can sell them on ebay.
that sucks
I have never bought anything from that site before..and it looks like Im not going to start …also, hope you enter my give-away
…I have not seen you wround my blog lately…miss your comments
xox
Oops! That sucks! Revolve DOES take awhile, that’s why I am partial to Shopbop now. Maybe you pay a little more for it but come on, it arrives THE NEXT DAY! So awesome! Plus I think Shopbop has more selection.
I buy ALL my clothes online but it can be total hit and miss, hence why I have so much stuff on Ebay…
For those interested here is the link, selling Marc Jacobs, Prada, Louboutin etc:

Can you even alter them? If you can do it, otherwise, sell on eBay or on a consignment store.
I almost suggest consignment because eBay sales are down (I think I’m the only one bidding on things!) - try Paper Bag Princess in Toronto?
Lemme know! I hate dissapointing purchases, especially when you are excited about it!

Hi there,
I totally agree with you, they do have a very lousy customer service!!! I just hate it! I have always shopped at revolve and loved their service until I returned my frye boot bec. it has been 10 days since they received it and they haven’t processed my returned merchandise yet! how long does it take for them to process returns??!! a month? a year?! I keep on emailin even callin their customer service but i always end up with “we haven’t processed your return merchandise yet, we’ll be emailing you as soon as we do”! That’s just crazy!!!!!! I have always been loyal to them and this is just unacceptable!
Anon, 2:37:
Hi,
I’ve returned before but it took them about a month to return my money. I also sent back my jeans, so we’ll see how long that takes, lol.
I am so angry with them…seriously, I am trying to find managers email or phone number to their head offices.
This totally sucks…I guess too bad for them, they are loosing customers during such difficult times.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day
That must be frustrating, hope you finally get what you wanted
have a lovely weekend!x
If I were you, I would call them and ask to speak with a supervisor. If you already have done that I would write their headquarters a letter explaining your situation and politely demand compensation. If they don’t comply say you will report them to the FTC.
aw, i’m sorry for all the trouble you had to go through !
shopping shouldn’t be this hard ..
that is so so frustrating. I don’t knwo what I would do but wait it out in that situation. Net-a-porter might be better for the bloch flats even with the extra $30 dollars.
I have found shopbop and la garconne to be great for shopping in my experience. there isn’t the free shipping for Canadians which would be nice - you have to budget for that but all of my orders have arrived promptly and correctly
So sorry for your experience but I don’t think you should discount revolve because of these unhappy experiences. Although it is truly frustrating as shopping online is so difficult! I just purchased something from Singer22, which I was also unhappy about as they have a no refund policy and the item didn’t even fit me a little! But my fault as I should have checked first. I just bought a maxi dress from The Trend boutique, and they were helpful as the gave individual sizing information for each item. Have you tried contacting revolve and told them that you are a regular buyer and will not buy from them again if they don’t let you return?
I just placed an order by today and they told me that my order has been partially shipped. Guess what they send out the cheapest item in my cart and tell me that they may or may not find the shirt i ordered.
How in the world would they ship out these items separately. Its like a bait and switch tactic.
I go expecting to buy a good shirt and use a promo code that gives me half off anything above 100$ and so i add up my cart to 100$ with a second cheap item and now they tell me that they have shipped the damn shampoo and they don’t know if they will find the shirt.
This is getting too close to being a scam. Plus their customer service is so hard to reach, its just put me on my last nerve.
I agree - I will no longer shop at Revolve. Ordered a dress for me and jeans for my BFs birthday present… checked out through google, got confirmation, all good. Then, I got the shipping notice and POOF! No jeans shipped. Called customer service a got a rude person with the personality of a rock… she blamed ME for not reading the confirmation right… said it should have stated “oversold.” Offered no apology whatsoever. I forwarded the confirmation to them so they could see for themselves. Perhaps they can’t read. Seriously, I am a jean junkie… spend $1000s. Their loss. An apology, a coupon code…too much to ask? Apparently, yes. They use “free ship” as a total rip… never again.
Same thing just happened to me!!!! I am so over them!! It would never happen @ shopbop.com!
Same here! My last three orders were totally f-ed up. Didn’t have the product, sent me the wrong item….blah blah blah. I will never REVOLVE again!
I wonder why they are having such problems finding things? They didn’t used to have this problem. But, I haven’t really shopped at revolve in a while because their site is overwhelming. I’ve been shopping on shopbop.com, shoplastyle.com, and neiman’s lately.
I absoulutely dislike Revolve as well! I bought a pair of shoes on April 23, 2009 have still not received it, they will not answer my emails or when I call they put me on hold and never come back… They are terrible the shoes are paid for already and still no show!
Hello i have recently purchased some things from Revolve and they arrived on time but right now the site has some problems with the prices. Other sites that offer good customer service are asos.com and shopbop.com never had a problem with deliveries and I have received every single order on time hope the information was useful!
Thank you, I adore Shopbop and have yet to try Asos. Do you deliver to Canada if so are Asos taxes high?
Hello, Asos does deliver to Canada as well if you use express delivery it takes 4 days and costs
15 CAD with standard delivery it takes about 8 days and its free you can check on line at http://www.asos.com/infopages/pgeshiptocountry.aspx
also their customer service is very helpful and always reply at emails and enquiries never had problems with asos.
I’m very thankfull for this posting! I have the same impression about revolve Clothing. Shipping takes years! First order was a disaster too!
$8 Express Shipping (includes tracking) > Free Shipping.
Lesson learned.
