World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week is underway and the action is non-stop. The festivities were kicked off with a cocktail reception hosted by event sponsor MasterCard to celebrate the Stylicity program where I had the opportunity of meet and have my picture with one of my personal fashion heroes, Jeanne Beker — host of Fashion Television for over 25 years.

Part 2 Vlog: Vaughan Mills New Media Challenge Ultimate Find + Winner

Hello Darlings,
The much promised video :) I will have more coming throughout the summer. Still very nervous doing them :) In the allotted hour, I picked up a beautiful silk Rebecca Taylor dress that was marked down from $350 to $78 at Holt Renfrew Last Call and was ready to present it to the judging panel in 60 seconds.

I said something like this: “I was looking for a cute summer dress. I found this one at Holt Renfrew Last Call and I love it. This is my first floral print piece ever and I love that it does not look like garden gone wild!” I told the judges I set off with a mission to find a cute summer dress and where I found this one. I explained that although I hadn’t previously appreciated the florals trend, their competition brought me to this one floral dress that appealed to me: it was both the ultimate deal and a welcome addition to my closet!

Toronto Fashion Week Last Day: What To Wear? What To See?

Hello Darlings,

On the last day of Toronto Fashion Week, I watched the shows of Sarah Stevenson, Diepo and Anu Raina. To finish off the week, I also stopped by the Spoke Club to check out the Versace fall 2011 show.

Spoke Club, a members- only club located on King Street, always puts on fabulous designer shows with themed evening soirees throughout Toronto Fashion Week; last season I checked out Alexander Wang, and this time around it was all about the glamorous world of Versace House. Of course, having had an opportunity to be surrounded by such wonderful Canadian talent definitely made me feel very patriotic. I am definitely looking forward to next season, and to having my first opportunity to check out Miami Fashion Week this upcoming fall.

This being the last Fashion Week post, I wanted to focus not only on the designers but also on the idea and experience of attending a fashion week. I will also break down what the hype is all about…. So here we go! What wear? Who to see?
