After a stressful day, I finally had a chance to sit down and enjoy the blogger-sphere…however, what I found were NASTY AND HURTFUL COMMENTS made on my birthday (Vegas) post! Although I am used to receiving rude comments anonymously, either on this blog or e-mail. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!! And finally decided to voice myself!!!

I am not here to set an example of any kind but only to connect with people who share common interests. I never understand the need as to why people insult??? Sure, you don’t like what I am wearing…it is fine and I would love for you to express your opinions. However, there are many ways to stay polite while being honest.
INSULTING IS JUST A SIGN OF POOR MANNERS!!!
It is always amazing what people can do or say when they feel hidden or protected. I know that this is a common problem many of the blogger’s face, but I have had ENOUGH. BE POLITE, even if you chose to stay anonymous!!! Show some respect to the individuals who are responsible for the blogs, since it is THEIR creative circuit… and it is your choice whether or not you want to emerge yourself in it!
THERE IS NEVER A REASON TO EXERCISE POOR MANNERS!!! Why do people have the need to be soo nasty? If you’ve ever made a nasty comment, please explain to me what made you do that??? Why not be polite instead ? I am honestly curious to understand as to why someone would EVER want to hurt an individual??? Don’t you feel ashamed of your actions?
Reading comments like these, whether it be on my blog or others… makes me question as to why our society is soooo screwed up? We blame media for “brainwashing us” but at the end of the day, it comes down to us and how far we allow ourselves to be a critical, judgmental and overall negative. By such nasty values we allow more negativity into the world, as if there isn’t enough already! Do something good for yourself and for others, instead of making yourself feel better by putting others down!!!!
I hope that this does not offend anyone as it is my opinion and I feel very strongly about this issue!!!

I agree with you 100%. Haven't these people learned the one rule we all learn in Kindergarten? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Kudos to you!
I really hope a few people who leave rude comments do not stop you from posting. Those of us that follow your page love to see your pictures and your outfits. Even though the majority of us could probably never pull off wearing them lol

Awww Marta! I know you feel - we all do! I've had nasty people attack me over my disability. HOW SAD IS THAT?
The truth is, the internet is a breeding ground for creeps and it causes petty, jealous people to lash out.
I know it's nasty but honestly there is nothing anyone could say about you…you're gorgeous, skinny and wealthy, with a great guy and great clothes. If anyone says otherwise, THEY ARE JEALOUS because it's not true.
So don't let them get to you - I know it's hard but it's a fact of being known on the internet. Many people suck but there are also many lovely people too.

GOOD FOR YOU! I am disgusted that anyone would leave you rude comments, especially on a birthday post. C'mon, that's ridiculous. This is a great post, very truthful. It takes too much time to be hateful and hurtful. Instead of posting nasty commens, go paintballing to get your aggression out people.

There are better ways to express yourself, and just because the internet offers unlimited anonymity does not make it appropriate to be hurtful! Don't worry karma will get them.

So i have never commented before, but I am an avid reader of you blog! I check everyday for updates, and I think you have great style and seem like a great person! Do NOT let immature, ridiculous people who hide behind the internet get you down. There is always going to be that 1% of people who feel the need to drag everyone else down. I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with that lately. I just wanted to remind you that there are people out there who support your blog and appreciate your creative circuit!

I am very upset. I believe that a person should treat others how they would like to be treated in turn. Negative thoughts ought to be kept as just that, as generally, there is no benefit of sharing them. (Particularly in a mean-spirited way)
Marta, you are a lovely person, inside and out. Perhaps some of these comments are indeed harsh and unnecessary, but my Grandmother has always said: consider the source. Often there is a deeper reason behind their comments… perhaps it's in fact their own issues. You have handled your responses with such decorum.
Personally, I love your sense of style! It may not be for everyone, which is fine, but it is yours. Your right. I will continue to follow you — you inspire me to be confident, elegant, and above else, classy.

wow, I cannot believe someone would be that nasty! I don't understand why people do that! I wouldn't mind if someone told me they didn't care for my outfit. I sure DO NOT expect everyone to like my style, but why the need to be so rude…?

I totally agree with you!! I have yet to experience any hate (yet) and I dread the day whereas I would find a hate comment for no reason. Criticizm CAN be constructive and I find a lot of people forget that because they are behind a screen.

As I can see from the above comments there are so many lovely people who love you and adore you. There are few pathetic souls around who try to make themselves feel better by being nasty to others. I strongly feel negativity and rudeness comes from your inner inferiority complex. Its a way to cover up their shallow life and mind. Anyways its your blog, your creative space and you have all the right to write whatever you feel like and I suggest you block unwanted readers.
I am another reader who never comments, but felt like I also had to write. Anyone who makes the effort to write a nasty comment is juts jealous, pure and simple. Marta, dont worry about it… Ive gotten some pretty nasty anonymous ones. There will always be negative people in the world..but I think what they are looking for most of the time, is a reaction. Well put, but dont let this stop you. I know you love your site(so do I) and you should def keep at it because there are SOOO many others who do as well.
You can wear whatever you want, especially on your birthday. I think many negative comments are pointless, it wasn't constructive at all. Everyone has their own style and that should be appreciated.

It's just jealousy in my opinion. I know I'm personally jealous lol. But I wouldn't write nasty things to you; it's just rude. Just keep on keepin' on, and ignore those who don't show you any respect.
Here, here, gorgeous!! It is incredibly rude what people will do under the guise of anonymity. Here you are putting your lovely outfits out here for us to see, taking time out of YOUR vacation to share photos with us and people insult you. A personal blog that someone pours their time and energy (and personal life) into is not a place for insults or negativity.
While it is okay to express your opinion, rudeness is never acceptable.

well that is not right! there is no reason for that kind of rudeness, were all in this together, in this community, and we all help each other out. There is no reason to hate on something putting their talent out, and getting bashed for it. Opinions matter, but only when they are done in a respectful manner, so dont even listen to them! they obviously were never taught how sophistication and class work.
Pffft! Who cares about a few rotten apples?! Don't waste a second thinking about the negative comments - focus on on the good! =)
