Hello Darlings,
Well, today was an ordinary day… school, study… ooh yea, and babysitting my 5 year old cousin. He and I had a blast watching Transformers movie.

Aanyways, on to the important issues and posts coming up:
1) V-day
Enough said… Whats a girl to wear?
What are you planning on wearing ( if celebrating)?

2) Spring Wardrobe
Well, it is -20 and I am already planning out my spring wardrobe. Leather jacket was the starting point. Definitely something so post about…hehe

What do you think are this Spring essentials? What are you planning on buying?

3) Shopping on a Student Budget.
Over a certain period of time, I’ve received comments and e-mails asking” How can I afford/organize my wardrobe on a student budget?” I actually have quite a technique that works for me and does not require crazy amounts of money. So, I will definately make a post regarding that in the near future…I am actually really thrilled to do it.

If there’s anything you would want me to talk about, do not hesitate to ask. I am always open to any questions/suggestions.

My Favorite Nook

Well, today’s outfit was pretty simple…I was too lazy to be creative and really didn’t want to go to my German class. One thing I’ve learned in University is DON’T START A LANGUAGE IN A UNIVERSITY. It will slowly murder you…. like German is murdering me now. But a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do….get a tutor ( as if 4 hour lectures are not enough)

But no serious damage done here…. A trip to Starbucks after class was all it took to make things better… And After a Grande Mocha and 3 chocolate cupcakes I was ready for homework, AGAIN.
I am wearing: YMC Socu Wool Cardigan Gap Pima Cotton Tee Corpus Skinnies in Ash Kimberly Baker Dove Necklace Michael Kors Booties
Sure, designers can make their ” affordable” tees costing $100 but for me nothing beats GAP pima cotton tees with a little pocket. I have them in few colors. Not only are they soft… but are very flattering.

I bet many of you wonder… why do I always take picture in the same place.Well…
1) I hate taking pics in public… I’m kind of shy in that way.
2) It is like -20 outside.
3) I like taking pics in the privacy of my room with nobody’s help. I just place my camera on a shelf and point towards my favorite nook. hehe… no fancy photography skills here.

Tip: If you live in cold climate ( like me) invest in a cute sweater that’s warm and basic. Although I paid nearly $200 for this cardi… I’ve been wearing it non stop. Comfy, cute, super warm, and goes with about anything. It will work perfectly in the spring and fall. And because the quality is amazing and the cut is pretty classic it will probably last me a few winters.I really really love it, as well.

Anyways, back I go… I am writing a textbook review for my research. So not fun.

I wish you all an amazing day !!!

With Love…
Marta

I’m the same way about pics in public…they just don’t work out in my favor. As for Valentine’s Day…honestly I didn’t realize that it was on a Saturday until yesterday, but then again we don’t make a big deal out of it because my birthday’s not too far after. Would love to see what you’ll be wearing though!

i adore that cardigan! and i’m like you.. i just take my photos in my bedroon.. with the camera sitting on my dresser and set on timer.. and generally i just don’t know what to do with my face.. lol

  8. Sue says:

    Ah, that cardigan is adorable.

I also live in Canada .. PEI to be exact. Blaaah. And I basically LIVE out of my v-necks and cardigans. They just keep me warm under my coat while going to school, which is not fun. Because I’m 16, and live on PEI .. you can just image the terrible outfits here. It’s all Hollister and Abercrombie blazed across everyone’s chests .. gag me.

Your style is very similar to mine, minus the high heels. I’m into leather boots, with studs. hahha. And converse. Those are ALWAYS good. And I wear more colors, which makes sense, because I’m a young 16 year old, I need to look fun. ;)

I always seem to leave you incredibly long comments. hope you don’t mind. :)

Love the sleeve-detail on the cardigan!

I’m looking forward to hearing your budgeting - I work full-time and make quite good money and yet I still can’t afford to buy lots of designer goodies - and if I do, it has to be at a hefty discount! I obviously have a lot to learn.

  11. tanya says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE your booties. The zipper on the front gives it a little edge.
Looking to spring as well…I think I’m going to start with a bright colored blazer…

  12. Brook and Lyn says:

All my pics are indoors for the same reason…too shy. And as for Vday….no outfit yet. I should really plan that out better…

Ok, I’m sorry, you are gorgeous and seem like a really sweet girl but…I am very interested to hear your “budget”….I guess it is all relative based on how you’ve grown up, but I don’t think you can claim to be on a student budget when it includes $500 leather jackets and Caribbean vacations. I admit, I’m jealous! I don’t mean this to come off as rude, I just think your perspective might be a bit different from most peoples’?

  15. ♥ Marta ♥ says:

Sue: I love your long comments :) And I am really glad that you can relate to my style, I think a lot of people can … only because it is pretty ordinary.

I remember when I was in high school all of my friend were like A&F clones…I never really did fit in with my fashion sense, but that's ok,lol. Even now, in university… I still don't fit in. I tend to be over-dressed and always on heels… something you don't see very often. I think that it is important to stay true to yourself.

    Anonymous( 8:53): Hey,
I promise I don’t think that you’re rude in any way… actually I really appreciate your honestly and do agree with you.

My perspective is different but not because of the way I was brought up.I think that people often times misunderstand me when it comes to the ” budget”. I think that ones I explain my background and spending… it might shed a light on me.

Although I am a little nervous approaching such an issue…well actually I am not sure how to approach it.It will definately be an interesting process.

Thank you so much for your comment and I really hope to hear from you again :)

Oh I’m so glad I didn’t upset you because that’s not what I intended at all :) I felt bad after writing that comment, didn’t mean it to be an attack in any way. I really like your blog and your style, and I’ll look forward to seeing what you have to say about the budget thing.

Anonymous ( 1:21): Honesty is a quality I admire most in people and I most definately appreciate it :)

I’ve been working on the post for the last few days… but it’s still not what I want to express. I think that I’ve re-written it at least 6 times. Hehe…Myself, I’m pretty curious to see the final result.hehe… no matter for strange that sounds. It is always interesting to learn something new about yourself.
    P.S. Have a lovely day.

Beautiful as ever. You have fabulous legs!!

Ah Valentines Day. My boyfriend and I are in a huge saving mode at the moment (we are saving to get tickets to go to australia and a visa for my boyfriend so he can live there- it is heart breaking having to resist in buying all the gorgeous items I am seeing at the moment so I cant wait to read your technique!)so instead of spending money at a restaurant we will have a lovely romantic day/evening. If the weather is nice we will go to a gorgeous seaside village called Cassis in the south of france and have a picnic and then in the evening I will decorate the flat with candles, romantic music, home made cupcakes, etc. I am a total romantic and lucky for me Mat is too! So i can be as corny as ever! No idea for the outfit! I need to search for inspiration on polyvore i think and will decide soon.

Spring Wardrobe: lots of colourful ballet flats, pastel nail polish, feminine tops and dresses with my leather jacket for evenings.

Good luck with your study and thank you very much for linking me :)

    Enjoy your day darling
    Bisous

  21. Dragana says:

Heeej, dear, you look great as you always do ;)
The leather jacket looks amazing, but I would sure have to spare for it like for a year :(

Hmm, spring wardrobe - I dont have a plan, but I definitly buy some new balerina-flats, with a tiger or leopard design, white and yellow balerinas, hippy dresses and a white one, many tshirts and skirts ;)
I tought of buying gladiator sandals, not high heel - gladiator, but flat gladiators. the most gladiators I saw lookin not womanly - feminin enough. They lookin all so mannish. And Im such a girly girl, he he.

Also Im really excited about your “budget post” because Im a student, and also from croatia so our standards are pretty lower than Canadas.

    xoxo

gorgeous as usual! your style is simple, but so fun in the details, which makes it not all that simple afterall! i’m still working on getting out of my high school look-and that was a long time ago…
i tagged your blog for a fun award, but i can see you’re pretty busy, so no worries if you can’t pass it on! good luck with all the research and stay warm! i miss canada, but not the cold!

I absolutely adore the cardigan and booties :) And investing in a good knitted garment is sooo worth it lol, goes for all seasons, including cooler summer nights. Oh and I totally know what you mean about spring wardrobes, I’ve already been making mental checklists of what I have and what I need to get!!

  27. Fashion Addict says:

Oh I am totally with you on planning for spring in spite of crazy amounts of snow that we still have and super cold weather.

For spring I will be looking for pretty dresses, and perhaps some tailored shorts. I love the scalloped ones from Chloé, but those are out of my budget. Something like them perhaps?

  30. Vintage Tea says:

love the boots. uni depresses me so much sometimes too, but starbucks always makes it better. lol

I must also add, Gap’s Pima Cotton t-shirts LAST FOREVER. I’ve had mine for 2-3 years and they last through the most ravaging washing machines. You won’t have to worry about them getting ruined in the washing machine. I love love love them. Great quality for the price!

I love the simplicity, yet sexy look that a white T provides!
