Still, no rain boots…
Hello Darlings,
It has been raining non-stop for the past few days! Boo… for me rain=frizzy hair, pants, and booties! I am still not a fan of rain boots, but maybe one remotely bizarre day I will begin to warm up to them. However, until that day arrives…I am all about booties! They keep my footsies dry, warm and happy
When going for booties on a rainy day, remember to spray them with water-repellent otherwise it might damage the shoe.
I never quite understood the point of rain boots as reasonable amount of leather shoes are water-proof. But then again it is completely my opinion and I have see people pulling off rain boots with flying colors!I just have a hard time seeing myself do that.
Whenever I shop was fall and winter footwear, I keep in mind the weather and always look for shoes that are comfortable and water-proof. Also, the thickness of leather plays a great part in the selection. I don’t like paper-thin leather as it will get wet and is most likely to crack in cold temperatures. The biggest NO NO for wet weather is SUEDE! I’ve made a huge mistake a while a go by purchasing a $600 pair of Michael Kors suede boots for winter.Let me tell you it broke my heart when after a month of wear they looked like garbage! I had to learn my lesson the hard way, so just wanted to make sure that you don’t. Because every time I think about the boots, I want to cry. Although, I adore suede shoes….they are only for dry weather.
Despite the nasty weather, I decided to venture outside to grab some yummy desserts with Andrew and his brother.Since I am quite a bit of tomboy at heart, spending time with the boys is always fun-filled
I settled for a fun look with pig-tails which have become my latest obsession. Ever since seeing Prada’s Spring 2010 show and ads, I was determined that this was the summer of pig-tails! All I need to do is find a perfect berry lip-gloss since red still intimidates the life out of me
To make the day a little brighter, Marc by Marc Jacobs scarf added a perfect touch of color.
I apologize for blurrier images as they were all taken in the rain in the late evening.
Otherwise the rest of the look was quite simple, my favorite Talula jacket of the moment paired with an over-sized tee and cropped skinnies. Personally, I love cropped skinnies a lot more than an average pair( at least for now!) because of the way that they display a pair of shoes. No more hiding of shoes, which works for me
P.S. I will be hosting another giveaway!!! So be sure to check back throughout this week!
But before I leave I must know…
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Wishing Everyone a Lovely Day!!!
With Love…
Marta

I actually love rain boots! I have a pink pair with a heart design. They always get compliments when I wear them, cheer up my mood on rainy days, and keep my feet warm and dry
Also, I get to splash in puddles like a kid and not worry about ruining the bottom half of my trousers!
I love that jacket on you… It looks so ‘thrown-on chic’!
I have to agree with Leia, I LOVE rain boots. Especially since I live in a place where it rains a lot, and some places that I have to walk through can have two feet deep rain puddles… Plus, it really is fun to splash in or run through puddles, without fear of ruining a pair of shoes, or getting my feet all wet inside them. I have a pair of black Michael Kors rain boots that have a bit of a heel… (high-heeled rainboots? but they’re not *that* high! lol) and I love them to pieces…
Right now, it’s soo warm and sunny here that I can’t wear them.. but maybe one day, I’ll make a post about them on my blog.
I read your other post about the top 10 items you can’t live without and I was wondering if you’ve read The 100 by Nina Garcia? It’s amazing and if you haven’t got it yet you should go out and get it! It’s a very quick, simple read too - perfect for a summer afternoon!
Hi Alexandra,
LOVE IT! I think her books are fantastic. Thank you for the suggestion.
I actually got it last week, thanks to you
You know… living my whole life in Vancouver, one would think I would have owned a pair of rainboots at some point but alas NO.
I like the look on others but to be honest, I just don’t find them to be that comfortable. I used to wear rainboots when I horseback rode (working at the barn) and they were just so cumbersome and clunky. That’s my own personal complaint with them!
Never in a million years I’d wear rain boots out. Never. I think there are enough choices to stick with just to avoid those rubber horror creations, even if they are covered in pretty prints. I think unless you are under 12 years old, you must avoid them 100%.
Oh I love rain boots! While I think printed ones tend to be insanely tacky, I always love seeing a solid pair of black or red or any other classic color during the rain.
You look lovely and I’m glad you had fun out with the boys!
Some people can really pull off a nice solid pair of black rain boots. It looks fantastic on those that can look good whie wearing them. I’ve yet to find a really good pair of fake leather boots. I don’t wear animal skins/furs, and I always have so much trouble finding a good pair of false leather boots or shoes! If you know where I could ever find a pair I would love to know!
Rainboots can come in handy, I have to say. They may not always look super stylish, but they are great for rainy cold spring days.
I have a pair of rain boots by Hunter. They’re not the classic ones you see, but they’re the equestrian style ones… They were available last year but not sure if they are anymore. I live in Vancouver, it’s imperative that I own a pair of rain boots. It took me a long time to find a pair I liked, I knew I didn’t want those patterned ones that I saw almost every girl wearing.
I have these, but in a darker colour. Or they just look darker in person. I love them.

Hi Jessie,
They sounds great, I guess I have yet to find that perfect pair.
I love rainboots as they make the kid at heart come out in me…I love your outfit, especially the pop of color from your scarf. I wore braided pigtails to work today and thought of your earlier post regarding confidence and pigtails and I felt very confident while rocking them today
Kisses,
Stephanie

I love that happy striped scarf!
i love the first photo, so cute! great outfit, i especially like the jacket. and i’m not a huge fan of rain boots either…
Hi ! Fashion F/W 2009-2010 is note dead ! It’s raining and cold too on French Riviera ! With our “rainy” salutations !
I love rain boots. I bought a yellow pair (brand, Cougar) but I would love a pair of black Hunter rain boots. Those are amazing.
My rainy day staple throughout fall and spring. I hate wearing my leather shoes in the rain.
Gorgeous shoes btw. I love those pigtails. I need to try some myself.
Love this playful look, and the pigtails are too cute!
I’m so sorry to hear about your MK boots… it breaks MY heart thinking about them too! I’ve frequently made the mistake of wearing the wrong shoes in the rain - the worst is when you go out not knowing it’s going to rain, and you end up ruining a pair of beautiful ballerina flats

I love the background of these photos with that scarf! Cute pigtails and love that jacket !
Great pop of color with that scarf! You look lovely!

quick living room revamp…
These photos are so adorable… The jacket is awesome and the scarf adds life to the whole outfit.. I love it =)
I actually love rain boots, though I haven’t had a good pair in a while. The next ones I get will be traditional Hunter brand boots. They make me think of Kate Moss and rainy festivals in the mud! I think I like them because you can layer thick socks underneath and be all cozy, even if you are wearing a skirt. But your booties solution is a great way to handle the weather, too!
