Hello Darlings,

I’ve realized that I haven’t done a beauty post in a while and since I’ve discovered some awesome new products that I am currently obsessing over, I’ve decided to share my latest finds! No need to hide our beauty secrets, right….te he :P

1. Kiehl’s Yerba Maté Tea Lotion: I have combination/oily skin and this lotion is very moisturizing without adding being oily or heavy.

2. Givenchy Phenomen’Eye Mascara: No matter how scary it looks, I was very curious to try it out. And this is hands down my favorite mascara ( in comparison to Dior, Lancome, Chanel, YSL, Revlon and Loreal). The technique is something that takes a bit of getting used to but I love it! Here’s a link to a how to video and illustrated instructions: Click! Do not be intimidated give it a try!

3. Tarte Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride: Forget about traditional blushes, this thing is awesome! It gives a very natural flush, lighlights cheeckbones and stays on for a long time. I adore it, definitely going for seconds.

4. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler: I’ve been debating over this curler for a long time but finally decided to see what the big deal is. And I must say this curler is amazing! Although pricey but I think that it is worth every penny. It gives a natural curve without breaking or pulling lashes.

5. Clinique Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector , SPF 40: When it comes to sun protection, I am paranoid. I wear high SPF with UVA and UVB protection all year around, every minute of the day. This formula is not heavy and sits perfectly under make-up.

6. Marrakesh Oil by Earth Body: I love this! My hair dresser is honestly a genious when it comes to hair (that is how much I love her) and she of course knows exactly what products to recommend. This was a must-have, so I picked it up and fell in love. This Moroccan oil with hemp and argan oils mix does wonders to my long and wavy hair. ( I picked mine up at Tonyc Salon and Spa at Sherway Gardens for $29.95…I know how difficult it is to find.)

Now my questions to you darlings…

What are some of the product you’re obsessing over, currently? As well

Thanks for the tip about Kiehls, I have oily/combo skin too and have always been too scared to use a moisturiser :) Marta you should definitely give red lipstick a go too!

  2. Leia says:

Love your beauty posts… I’ve heard a lot about the Moroccan oil but never tried it myself! And that mascara does look intimidating but I might just give it a try :)

I am ashamed to say, I rarely think about sunblock. But the tinted moisturizer I use - Benefit YouRebel - comes with some spf, so I hope that covers it!

  3. Marie says:

I started using Dr Hauschka skincare products lately and I’m pretty obsessed about them!!!

Love your blog and I will definitely try the Moroccan oil!

  4. Miss Neira says:

  6. thank you for loving suncreen!!! it is so important to have it on everyday! and when my friends/family make fun of me… “the sun nazi” is a common nickname of mine, i just laugh because when i am 50 i will look 30 and they will look 70. so HA! i win!

i love all of the products that you mentioned. great staples. i am a monster fan of laura mercier’s tinted moisturizer and the best bargain everyday mascara is the cover girl lash blast lengthening in the skinny yellow bottle…there are so many more, but at the risk of boring everyone, i’ll stop ;)

  7. Gabrielle says:

    Hi Marta
Once I read in here that you don’t like MAC produts!!
All my make up is from MAC!
    Why don’t you like it??

    • Hi Gabrielle,
I don’t remember saying that ( if I did then I have changed my mind since then), MAC is not my favorite make-up line but I do have few things from them (primer and eyeshadow that I adore). The only thing I really don’t like is their mascara only because I had a really bad eye reaction and had to go see my doctor. But besides that, I think that they have great variety.

I think that make up is a very personal choice…and finding a brand that works for you is wonderful and I am glad that you did.

  8. Hi Marta!i love your blog!I have been following it ever since you started on Blogspot. really like the givenchy mascara.

  9. hikari says:

My favorite things right now beauty wise are my dior sunscreen, Japanese pearl mask and my Chanel Empreinte highlighter and YSL faux cils mascara. Thanks for sharing all the skincare *secrets*.

  10. hikari says:

I have a question do use the Marrakesh oil as a conditioner (do you wash it off after putting it on your hair) or use before blow drying and/or straightening? In other word how do you use it on your hair? Thanks for sharing!

    • Hi Hikari,
I use it only on damp hair before blow drying and straightening. If I am leaving my hair wavy ( naturally) then I use it both on damp and dry hair. The key is to use very little of it, otherwise your hair is going to look oily. Personally, I love this product, it’s like hair miracle.

  11. Renata says:

    Hi!!!
    I’m loving the posts!!
But tell us, how is your beauty rotine?
    What do you use first?
The sunblock, the moisturizing, the primer and then make up??
I only use sunblock and make up cause I feel that a lot of products makes the oil apears in my skin
I don’t know what to do!
    : )
    Help me?

    • Hi Renata,
Thank you so much, I am glad that you do :) It is always a pleasure making posts, it really is.
Actually, I’ve received a few e-mail with the same questions and will be sure to make a post on it sometime this week. I know how you feel, my skin is exactly the same way as yours.

  12. Laura says:

I love the Shu Uemura eyelash curler too! I have the limited edition 24k gold one and although my bf didn’t see the point in a LE eyelash curler, I feel fabulous every morning using it when applying my make up. I’ve read so many good things about the Tarte cheek stain but I haven’t had the courage to try it yet.
I’m currently obsessing over the GUerlain mascara which has 2 ends. On one side, it’s got a regular sized brush and on the other, a smaller brush to get around the corners of your eyes.

  13. Becca says:

I’ve been dying to try the givenchy mascara.

  14. Ezra Hilyer says:

Cool site, I was looking for more sites done with the Lightword theme, and I like what you have done here.
