Hello Darlings,

I hope everyone had a beautiful new year celebration! I got to spend mine at The Roosevelt Room Supper Club enjoying a wonderful dinner and then dancing with some of my closest and dearest.

Despite last year’s unfortunate chain of events, I am very excited to begin a new year with a fresh and clean slate. I was very eager to put 2010 behind me and move into 2011 with the highest spirits and of course greatest hopes. I hope that this year brings everyone countless amount of blessings and happiness…I am very thankful to have my family, friends, and every single one of you to share my life’s little adventures. Thank you!

For the celebration, my new BCBG Max Azria dress—that was initially meant for my university graduation—came in handy. With it’s beautiful lace overlay and underlay, sequence stitching, and shift skirt with pockets…the dress was perfect for the occasion. Plus, it worked out perfectly with my new L.A.M.B. heels.

I got these heels few weeks ago at Browns Shoes site and was quite nervous as to how comfortable they were going to be. To my surprise, the pair is one of the most comfortable pairs that I own and is made exceptionally well. The suede is very even in tone, the soles are leather and the heels is high but very comfortable. To finish the look, I decided on my Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch that added a very bold pop of color. Aside from the clutch and heels, I did not accessorize as I felt that the entire look carried enough detail.

I am wearing:
BCBG Max Arzia Lace Coctail Dress
L.A.M.B. Giorgie Suede Booties
Marc by Marc Jacobs “New Q” Wristlet

As for my new year’s hair, I chose to get my hair done at the Blo Blow Dry Bar on Yonge Street. Blow Bars are located throughout North America and offer a quick wash and style. This was my first time at the Blow Bar and the experience was quite enjoyable.Usually, I would visit my hairdresser but this time around I wanted a quick in-and-out visit with no hassle or waiting. Although I adored my hair style which took about an hour to achieve and 3o minutes in wait time, I though that the service could have been more professional and accommodating. I blame a fact that it was overly busy and stressful! I would definitely give it another try and hope that the girls are more professional in their conduct towards clients. Otherwise, I absolutely loved it.

I ringed in new year feeling wonderful and had lots of fun celebrating it! Couldn’t have asked for a better celebration :)

What did you do to celebrate the arrival of 2011?

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Friday!!!

With Love…

Marta

WOow Chère Marta, I really like the way this dress tend to put the New Year under such a “exquisite-issime” sign, AND more the way your haughty gracefulness ideally sublimates this dark finery !!! Just like an “obvious BOMBnextDoor turned into an uber refined Party Girl” (“shy wink”) . . .
ps: I warmly wish you All The Best for 2011 Dear !!!

    à Bientôt, Antoine

Your hair looks fantastic! I always like to start the new year with a new haircut too, I actually just chopped all of mine off yesterday (hoping to post pics tomorrow once I locate a blowdryer…).
I also can’t tell you how many posts I’ve read that start of with “good riddance to 2010…”. My grandma always says that luck tends to come in threes, so by that calculation all of your bad has run out and 2011 will be full of good things!

Dear Marta, you look amazing in this dress! You really do. It’s amazing how calm and soothe you look even though it has been a hard year for you. I wish you have a wonderful 2011 because everyone here know that you deserve it!
This year I wasn’t in the mood of huge parties, loud music and drunk people so firstly I had dinner with the closest family and then I went out of town to my boyfriend’s summer place to have a chillful night. Maybe it’s just me but as older as I get less I feel like being surrounded by crowds in tiny places.
Again, I wish you the best <3
