Hello Lovelies,

( Degas, The Dance Class at Opera,1872)

Well, my highlighter bright ballerinas have arrived and I am gaga head-over-heels in love with them. Typically for someone who avoids loud colors, this is quite a bold change. They are perfect…

I’m not sure why I’ve been obsessively buying ballerinas… maybe because after so many years spent dancing ballet, they feel natural to me. I love the way they make me feel - they remind me of my dancing years and in that moment I feel like a little girl wanting to be a ballerina all over again. All I need is a tutu and I’m ready for the Swam Lake, lol.

To some flats ruin the outfit, to others they are just dull, but to me they are irresistibly adorable and chic. I love wearing them during the warmer seasons, usually instead of sandals.

How do you feel about ballerinas ( by that I mean shoes, lol)??? Love/Hate them?

As for today’s outfit that I wore to dinner with Andrew…

Well it was definitely stepping outside my comfort zone. At least in terms of color. A bright top and a loud shoe… that for me is quite something.

I am wearing: Totem ( amazing Brazilian line) Top the line is available at ASOS;J Brand 12″pencil in jett; Mackage Leane Leather Jacket; Pretty Ballerinas Rita Flat; diamond studs( gift from parents); Swarovski Love Charm Bracelet ( gift from Andrew)

Ooh, I also paid a visit to my hairdresser for my monthly trim and some lowlights…I added a bit of golden tone but nothing too drastic. I am totally paranoid not to ruin my hair by coloring it, so I stay away. Today I decided to wear it naturally, which is wavy and big, lol.
Sometimes it is so difficult trying to decide to wavy or straight.

Products of the Moment

Also, I want to mention a few awesome products that I’ve been using and totally loving.

♥ It is absolutely amazing.
♥ Not only does it contain SPF but it prevents my face from getting oily throughout the day.
♥ Before this I used Smashbox or Chanel Primer, but I love this soooo much more and it is much cheaper.
♥ I am not a big fan of MAC but I really do love this product.
Kiehl’s Sodium PCA “Oil-Free”Moisturizer.
♥Perfect for the summer time.
♥Not as oily as the Ultra Facial Moisturizer, but still very moisturizing.
♥Worth a try if your skin is more oily in the summer.

I would like to send out a huge thanks to everyone. I apologize for taking so long to respond,I am bombarded with exams. I am trying to post regularly and promise to get back to each and everyone as soon as I can.

I can’t wait to be done… but it seems like it will never happen. Slowly my positivity is fading.

I wish you all a beautiful day!!!!

With Love…
Marta

I think your hair looks great when it’s wavy, not big at all!

And I absolutely love ballet flats, too. I want to get myself a pair of Pretty Ballerinas or French Soles! They are also perfect for walking-cities where heels are just not an option, unless you have a chauffeur!

Omgosh pleaseee tell me where you got those shoes they are so cute! And I totally know what you mean about ballet. I used to dance ballet too, but I still own ballet shoes because I love them so much!

  6. FJ says:

Wow those are bright. Very cute. I tend to stay away from flats because I’m short so I prefer heels.

Very interesting flats. I like how they’re so left field.

Wow - lucky you! All these great clothes all the time. Those ballerinas are awesome and just funky enough. I love ballerina shoes (am wearing my Kate Spade yellow ones at the mo) but probably because I can’t usually wear heels that often. Only problem I have with ballerina flats is that they make my legs look fat and stumpy. Sigh. WHY ME?

That said, I did just buy (ok last week, before the shopping ban!) black sequin French Sole flats…I heard they are really well made, like Repettos, so I am excited to get them!

PS will have to try that MAC primer…I use the oil free Smashbox primer but I don’t think it does anything for my skin - am just as oily as ever!!

So adorable! They look great on you! i use Kiehl’s too. Their body lotion is creamy but not greasy. You have a beautiful day too!

Very cheerful and pretty! They will be so perfect for this summer. I’m a huge fan of ballet flats - I alternate them with heels so my little feet get some rest. I’m quite petite so I tend to wear them bottoms that elongate my legs, like tights or skinny jeans - But love them best with cuffed short shorts :)

  12. Olviya says:

i love balerinas - they are not only comfortable but very feminine!

  13. Ashley and Eric says:

  16. Marylin says:

I like how flats feel but I hate how they look. Being short, they do nothing to enlongate my legs and just make me look stumpier than I already am. But I still wear them because I walk funny with heels on. Sigh. Just can’t win.

Edgar Degas is one of my fav Impressionists.
I saw a few years ago a few of his paintings in the Museé d´Orsay and was also impressed to see his sculptures.

Once you get a hand on a pair of perfect ballerinas
you can´t live without them ;)

    Stay Beauty!
