Hello Darlings,

After a grueling day of shopping for some spring essentials, I think I am ready for SPRING! With my list in hand, I have had a successful day of locating the majority of the items that I jotted down.

If I was to choose only one item to purchase it would definitely be a cute pair of flats.

I cannot live without flats! So this season, I decided to buy the same flat as my trusted favorite but in a different color - another pair of Juicy Couture “Rose” ballerinas. As I am still obsessed with my pink ones, I figured that getting the same pair in a different color is like having your cake and eating it too (I’ve never quite understood this saying, cake is always eaten:P ) I love Juicy footwear, not only because it is adorable but because it has incredible quality and comfort.

I ordered my pair from Neiman Marcus, which I must admit was a pleasant surprise. I usually stay away from ordering from department stores as they charge crazy shipping fees and predetermined taxes. In this case I used the code: WELCNM to receive free shipping on purchases over $100. Also, knowing your duties on spot is very comforting. For fellow Canadians, who have to play the guessing game with the duties office know how uncomfortable it is so order an item and then wait to see the duties. I might as well note that shipping taxes to Canada are pretty crazy.

However, in this case purchasing these flats in Canada would bank it an about $250 with taxes, meanwhile on line the final cost was $190. Despite paying $40 in taxes, the price difference between purchasing them in Canada and on-line was quite drastic. Therefore, before making that pricier purchase, be sure to check out if it available on line at a lower cost. Be sure to count the shipping and duties into the final cost, rather than just looking at the price tag. Despite my love for Canada, I must admit that shopping can get quite frustrating since some in demand items are greatly overpriced and also not very accessible. As a result, I tend to shop online as much as I do in stores, if not more.

I am wearing: Juicy Couture “Rose” ballerinas in natural snake ( from Neiman Marcus); Marc by Marc Jacobs Bleecker Street Tee ( from Marc by Marc Jacobs on Bleecker, NYC); Mike& Chris “Paul” leather hoodie (from Holts Last Call); Marc by Marc Jacobs chain clutch ( from Marc by Marc Jacobs on Bleecker, NYC); Aldo “Gillins” bow ring ( from Aldo Accessories); Marc by Marc Jacobs “Miss Marc” Studs (from Nordstrom Soho, NYC); Chanel Aviators ( from Chanel).

As for my outfit, comfort was essential! This is what I wore to yesterdays shopping trip: I went for my all-time favorite pair of Alexander Wang for Gap khakis, a tee with a naked bottom, and my obsession du jour …the leather hoodie! To add a little sparkle and shine to an otherwise neutral outfit, I went with my Marc Jacobs chain clutch and Aldo bow ring. I always keep my accessories in one color area, either silver of gold ,never mixing the two. As I’ve mentioned before, it is all in the details.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Well, I am off I have an early morning class…

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Thursday!!!

With Love…
Marta

    Total, resounding YES!! lol

If I love something, I will buy it. And then when it goes on sale, I will buy back-ups for it. And back-up back-ups. … and in different colours. *blush blush* But if I love an item that much, there’s no reason why I can’t have it in multiples, in all colours of the rainbow… it just means you can incorporate that loved item into even more outfits! (Or so I justify to myself…)

You should see my Aritzia Wilfred batwing sweater collection… and that Free People tutu skirt! I had to buy it in the frost blue… so cute and perfect for spring! :D I will admit to having bought doubles of a Mackage leather jacket as well. I loved it too much not to get it in my size twice while I still could. (It was on CRAZY sale for 129.00 each!!)

This comment sounds so very bouncy and enthusiastic, but only because I’m so super-duper glad that I’m not the only one who buys ‘the same’ thing, if it is so loved!

I love your flats. They are so cute!! (And… and.. I *HAVE* that ring!! I bought it on sale last weekend!! Or was that two weekends ago now? :P )

    Hey Marta,
Yes! I bought flats in red and black once. I figured black flats were essential, and when I saw them in the red, I thought they were too fun to pass up!
I’m glad you joined Chictopia! It was fun stumbling across you there. I can’t believe after following your blog for what seems like years now, I’m finally commenting!!
    Take care,

Lovely flats! I love finding a cheaper price online, though usually I find it’s easier to go to the store. But I live in the States, so I can see how Canada would be frustrating (I remember always see the US Price and than Canada Price on books, etc and wondering why they’re so much more!)

I’ve never been able to buy anything from Juicy — even though I’ve seen really nice things — because those tracksuits left such a bad impression on me.

  9. that is insane, how much you have to pay in taxes and whatnot in canada!? i do 90% of my shopping online, so that would make it very difficult!!! with that said, those are super cute flats. i am more of a flat sandals girl, when it comes to which i would rather have, but those are adorable.

    Adorable outfit.

I buy the same shoes all the time. And sometimes I wear out my favorite piece of clothing and end up buying it again. If it’s worth it, then there is nothing wrong with buying things twice. :)

I love your flats: they are adorable. Your whole outfit is very cool. I love the khakis. You wear them so well!

I absolutely love your sunglasses. :) And I love those flats. I have often toyed with the idea of buying a pair of Juicy Couture flats, but to me the material never seemed durable enough. However, now that I’ve read all the good things you and many others have to say about them, I may just pick myself up a pair.

P.s. You are in my top four favourite blogs on my blog! Keep up your wonderful work.

Thanks for the lovely comment Marta!

I’m going to a Juicy Couture outlet tomorrow afternoon and will most definately be looking out for those fab ballerina flats. If not some flats, maybe I’ll find another great pair of shoes from Juicy since you have spoken so highly of the brand.

    Kisses,
    Stephanie

So true about the whole looking into duties thing.. I ordered some stuff from shopbop once and was walloped with a hefty duty price. Still, my 7 for all mankind jeans were, even including duty, far less expensive than they were at Aritzia, so there you go. A lot of online shops have ridiculous shipping to canada, particularly UO which I find strange since they have Canadian locations?? Odd.

  16. Allie says:

I have those flats too! LOVE THEM! I got them at Nordstrom Rack a few years ago for $60!! SCORE! I don’t think I’ve ever bought the same pair of shoes twice…..yet…

  17. I adore those little flats, Marta!

I would definitely purchase the same thing, or similar, twice. I find this especially true of pants
and shoes, for some odd reason. I have a pair of Calvin Klein shoes that I just adore - they are
incredibly comfortable and easy to wear, though quite high. I have since purchased a few other
pairs, but they don’t feel as comfortable. If I could find another CK pair, similar, I would buy them.
    In a heartbeat.

p.s I too have that ring thanks to your recommendation. I have so much fun with it, and get
    so many compliments…

Hope you have a great weekend :)

    xo,
    Sarah

Love the flats. I have then in red patent leather. So comfy, and you can throw then in your bag in case your high heels starts to hurt you. At least that’s what I do when I venture to NYC. It can be brutal. Your pink ones are tdf.

    • Hi Doutzen,
I know the red ones I’ve been looking for them in my size for forever. I also want a second pair in pink because my are starting to show signs of wear :( I think that Juicy “Rose” flats are probably the most durable delicate pair of shoes ever!
