Hell0 Darlings,

With another Boxing Day conquered, the question of the day is Boxing Day shopping - is it worth it? Despite my best efforts to plan, I’ve realized Boxing Day success is more about luck and lots of will power. Also it’s key to have a specific piece to hunt to avoid wandering aimlessly and save yourself from unnecessary purchases.

Therefore, this boxing day I had a clear goal in mind. Only to buy items that I actually need now or in the near future. This Boxing Day, I ended up leaving with a dress for my university graduation, a skirt for my internship, and a pair of flats that I’ve been dying to get. As well as some beauty products.

Can I say that it was a successful day of shopping? Yes! Only because I purchased items that I need and I did so with saving quite a bit. So, shall we explore my boxing day “scores”… and reasons behind the purchase and the amount saved! This is kind of like a Boxing Day Analysis…

Perfect for going out and great for my new internship.
Beauty Items

I had a clear goal in mind and was in need on skincare products.

I purchased various skin care items that I will definitely review in my upcoming skin, beauty post and hair posts.

Kiehl’s Sodium PCA Oil-Free Moisturizer, $24

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, $35

YSL Singulier Mascara, $36

2 of Body Shop Shea Body Butter, $5 ( on sale from $8)

The total spent was $573 with $493 in savings. Was Boxing Day worth it? Yes and No! Yes, because I bought things items that I will actually wear. No, because I did spend a lot and the savings were not spectacular.

I am wearing:
Club Monaco Italian Cashmere Sweater
BCBG Max Azria Tutu Tank Dress
Michael Kors Watch
Jewelry by LuShae color heart ring

I did play around with purchasing this tutu at BCBG but decided that my new Robbi& Nikki by Robert Rodriguez Feather Skirt was more age appropriate :) Although the tutu was cute and fun. The outfit had to be shared and maybe one day I will have enough courage to actually wear a tutu in public, but until that day… it was just as fun to play around with it.

Please do share your favorite Boxing Day finds?

Where did you go shopping?

And do you think it is worth to go shopping on Boxing Day?

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Day!!!

With Love…

Mmh so Honestly for me this “boxing day” idea mostly evokes me Soccer and English First League BUT I MUST say that your personal declination sounds “Trendyliciously” appealing !!! So “Fruity neo Romanticism” . . .
ps: Happy Holidays to you Dear Marta !!!

Great clothes! And I still think you look adorable in that tutu skirt, however, you are right about passing on it - save these beautiful photos instead. :) Merry Christmas! xxx

  3. I think you bought some lovely items, especially the dress is gorgeous!
The tutu is cute, but I think in the end you’ll be better off with the dress and skirt! :)

Fantastic purchases! I totally agree.. I spent way more than I should on Boxing day, I could have found those deals again within the next month… But BCBG was so tempting and I caved. I love the black dress!

I definitely agree that the sales offered on Boxing Day were not too different from sales throughout the year. Club Monaco had some disappointing sales; I find their sales throughout the year to be a little more exciting. BCBG offering 50% off throughout the entire store was pretty good though, and you definitely found some great pieces! You must be so excited for your upcoming graduation! Congratulations!

Looks like you got some good buys, but it does still seem like a lot of money. I gave boxing day sales a miss this year. I didn’t need anything, so I knew I’d just waste money. But it’s always good to go shopping with a strategy in mind!

  7. You did so well this Boxing Day - good for you! I really like that BCBG skirt you bought…and the one you didn’t buy as well! I actually debated getting one of the tutu skirts too…but have so far decided that I’m also a tad too old to rock one. Although we’re both much younger than SJP was when SATC started. We shall see… ;)

Enjoy your new purchases! Happy holidays!

We don’t have a Boxing Day in the U.S. but I do take advantage of deals and saving for our After Christmas Sales which simply occur after the Christmas holiday. I get so wrapped up in the deals that I often forget that some items I buy, I will probably not get a lot of use out of. It’s posts like yours that remind me to be smart about my shopping habits!

    Eternally yours,
    Stephanie

I must say boxing day was MADNESS here too! I went to Aritzia and everything was picked over and the discounts weren’t high enough for me to justify a purchase. I did end up with an awesome pair of real leather boots with sherpa lining from Town Shoes though!

    Enjoy the holidays!

  11. I love the black cocktail dress, it was definitely a steal and it looks amazing on!

  12. Hello, Marta! I hope that the new year is off to a wonderful start… just stopping by to say hello and to tell you how much I adore your skirt — what a fabulous piece — fun and very, very chic :) Hope you are well, my friend, xoxo
