Tote It With You

Hello Darlings, nothing compares to an attachment that a woman has to her purse. When I say that my whole life is in it, I am not joking — it really is. Our purses are gateways to all of our “secrets”! This is exactly why snooping through a woman’s purse should be a punishable crime. The type of attachment that we have to our purses cannot be explained, it can only be appreciated.

To me a large purse is a necessity! On an average day I am tugging along my DSLR camera and lenses, a laptop, a book, two cell phones, and a notebook. In all honesty, I had fewer items in my backpack on any given day during my academic years than I do now. A century ago, a woman did not carry a purse larger than a cocktail pouch and now we can justify a briefcase on wheels. Case in point, the busier our lives become the larger the purses we upgrade to. When deciding on an everyday companion, one cannot take such decision lightly which is why much thought and savings go into that purchase.

Naturally, there are days when even our largest purse does not fit everything. On the days when we put aside our purses and resort to more carrying space, that is when a tote bag becomes a lifesaver. Now, the tote bag situation is not an easy one as more often than not, the selection isn’t fabulous. I’ve been in search of chic leather tote for a long time. This find gave me hope as I not only see it fit for Sunday errands but also as a carry-on. Whoever said that you need to sacrifice good looks for practicality was so wrong!
