Hello Darlings, With a blur of fashion shows, dinners and parties all in the name of fashion. In the midst of downtown Toronto, some of the best international and domestic talent presented their Fall/Winter collections at the World MasterCard Fashion Week.
While the weather presented the ideal conditions to showcase cold weather collections, the fashion crowds kept putting their best foot forward while dealing with cold -10 temperatures. We may be in spring but it sure continues to feel like winter!
With any significant occasion in our lives comes the pressure of what to wear and looking best. In the case of fashion week, it is also feeling the need to be fashion forward and on trend. During this time, the days are booked with shows, the evenings are scheduled with parties or dinners and nights and early mornings are spent editing images and writing. It’s a cycle where a concealer and an espresso become your best friends. It’s a spiral that is exciting and exhausting, thrilling and yet overwhelming!

As for the pressure of the being fashion forward well it makes you wonder. It makes you wonder if you’re fashionable enough or on par. Then you stop for a minute and realize that not a single woman should ever feel the pressure based on image. Fashion week or not, we all deal with the expectation of looking a certain way. If it’s for a friend’s birthday or a fashion party, the expectation doesn’t go away. It is however our decision whether we are willing to give in. At the end of the day, it is all about you and what you want. The social pressures that we feel are the ones that we accept to follow. So stay true to your style and who you are as a person regardless of what occasion. Remember that you’re fabulous just the way you are!
