Hello Darlings, Facebook bought Instagram just over a year ago. However, the two social networks operate independently and are seemingly going in very different directions. The increasing power of Instagram hits home today as the popular Dutch photography website SydneyFrancisco.com featured one of my looks on their OOTD Magazine instagram that has a staggering 422,000 followers!
Within minutes, my look received 5,000 hearts and more than 100 people started following my own @MartaTryshak instagram. Staggering engagement - and dramatically different than what’s to be expected with Facebook nowadays.
Facebook sold shares in the company in May 2012, and soon after made big changes impacting how their roughly 1.1 billion users access information using their social network. Facebook publicly stated that they were changing their algorithm - known as EdgeRank - to better analyze the billions of posts and photos uploaded to the site. To avoid going all techie, here is a good article if you want to read a deeper analysis about EdgeRank.
The main thing to know is that Facebook now limits how many people see whatever is posted on their social network. It’s not a huge drama for a private individual - but this is a disaster for brands and teams who have built large audiences - since now with any given post they commonly reach less than 5% of their followers. They can reach their whole audience with any given post, but of course Facebook is smart in that now brands have to pay large amounts to reach them!
Instagram still allows users to access all their followers, so whenever the boys from SydneyFrancisco post a photo on their OOTD Magazine they reach all of their 422,000 followers. Another big difference between the two social networks is that currently you can’t add hyperlinks whenever uploading Instagram photos. I actually love this about Instagram, since the social network is perhaps far more artistic than commercial as a consequence. This may also explain why engagement on Instagram is substantial more than on Facebook, which is a trend that will inevitably continue.

Retrieving data from the servers may be a tedious task, causing users to make heavy downloads, but that is again a much better option than backing no data at all.
You no longer can remove these troublesome programs from
your computer, you do not have the permissions to see them,
and you certainly don’t have the permissions to manipulate them. You could potentially do this with proxies, but you’d have to find a fresh, reliable,
and available proxy server from scratch each time.
