Hello Darlings, With a missed morning flight, detour through Atlanta and 15 hours later I landed on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. The warmth hitting my face for the first time as I stepped off the airplane felt like heaven after the frigid temperatures in Toronto. In a taxi on the way to Kahala Resort I was mesmerized my the urban metropolis that was unfolding in front of me as we neared the city of Honolulu.

It was around 6pm local time and 11pm Eastern time, the jet lag has yet to present itself. As we drove up to the lobby of Kahala Resort, upon greeting us I received my first welcome lei. Traditionally Hawaiians present lei as a sign of hospitality and welcome to the guests. Upon checking in, I was just in time to catch the golden hour.

Hello Darlings, At the first sight of snow the suitcases were packed and we were on our merry way seeking sunshine. After a direct 5 hour flight with WestJet we landed in Phoenix airport where the sun was shinning and the car was awaiting for us. After a 15 minute drive, we were at the beautiful W Scottsdale — our home for the next 4 days. With a vibrant art scene, fabulous golf courses and magnificent resorts Scottsdale was described by New York Times as a “desert version of Miami’s South Beach.” And rightfully so! It is no wonder that within the past few years, Scottsdale has become the “it” destination that offers refinement that Vegas doesn’t and quaint alternative to South Beach. In the four days that we were there it quickly became a favorite!

While originally expecting calm and quite — the city took us by surprise! The “new” Scottsdale now competes with Palm Springs, Las Vegas and South Beach and what do they all have in common? Fun — endless supply of parties, lounges and clubs. Culturally it is also a hub for arts and great architecture especially that influenced directly by Frank Lloyd Wright. So while a horse ranch and endless stretches of dessert are never too far, in the midst of it all is a bustling urban oasis that not only knows how to spoil but entertain. If you’re looking for horse back riding, followed by Moët & Chandon and swanky parties and delicious restaurants then you’ve found your new destination. To say that it’s unique would be an understatement and to admit that I haven’t been charmed would be a lie.

Hello Darlings, With December fast approaching and holiday vacations are hopefully weeks away, it’s time to start planning your resort wear. Yes majority of us are focusing on holiday shopping and making to-do lists before the year ends. And I am certain many of you are thinking that I’m nuts for even suggesting it but I assure you there’s a good reason. This is an ideal time to snag amazing summer clothing and bikinis on awesome sales, prior to the arrival of new resort collections.

While shopping for daily wardrobe is a lot easier since majority of us have established what works and what simply doesn’t. It is the resort or vacation wear that is a bit more challenging. Since going on a vacation is a special time and you want to feel great while there, it’s not a good reason to break the bank for an entirely new wardrobe. It seems that many women the moment they hear beach see neon colors, high platforms and palm tree prints. Many of us step outside of our typical likes for looks that many would consider “festive” or vacation appropriate. So if you’re not the one to wear dramatic hats in your everyday life, by no means do you have to do it while away. Go for something that’s your style. Stick to the woman that you are!
