Spring is on my mind…
Hello Darlings
As I am sitting here, trying to study for my French midterm and finish my architecture analysis, the sunlight is flooding my room. I can’t believe that spring is just around the corner, lectures are almost done, exams are a month away, and Toronto fashion week is in couple of weeks, and my closet needs a complete overhaul. So much to do and so much to see, it is overwhelming but exciting at the same time.
Speaking of closets, I’ve received quite a few requests for a vlog/closet video and although I am intimidated by the idea, I’ve decided to give it a try. When I have a spare minute, I will create a video of my closet and share with you some of my favorite spring items. So that is coming up in a little bit! I am pretty shy in person and this is a huge step for me.. *blush blush*
Here I am thinking spring, spring, spring…but it was actually snowing, snowing, snowing just a couple of days ago. Although I am really excited for spring, I am so not ready for it! I haven’t even had the time to find my spring absolutely-can’t-live-without-must-have BALLERINAS and I usually buy them in February. For me spring and summer is all about delicate and beautiful flats. I don’t even know what I need to buy! The key here is NEED and not WANT! No plan=No shopping. I do have some ideas in mind, but the selection in stores is not quite satisfying.I feel like everything looks the same and is just not worth spending on!!! I have not forgotten about my promise and my mission, it is just taking a little longer to organize. Who could have thought that changing your shopping philosophy can be so difficult?
In the meantime, I would like to share with you an outfit from this weekend.
Simple and soooo comfortable! Ooh…and I just re-discovered this pair of Juicy boots in my closet. It’s amazing how exciting it can be to shop in your own closet : P You should give it a try sometime!!!! Every season, I pack away half of my closet... and right now, I am in the process of unpacking my spring/summer closet. So exciting!
I am wearing: Wilfred Free top ( from Aritzia); J Brand skinnies ( from Winners); Club Monaco cashmere scarf and gloves ( from Club Monaco);Sonia Rykiel pour H&M beret (from H&M); Mackage Leane Leather Jacket ( from ssense.com); Juicy Couture Boots ( from Winners); Gustto Cokera Purse ( from revolveclothing.com); Michael Kors Watch ( a gift from Andrew).
Between the school, snowstorms, and studying... Andrew and I did have a chance to stop by our favorite French patisserie, Nadege!!!You MUST check it out if you live in Toronto!!! The place, the macaroons, and the French….are all oh-so-chic, how can one resist the temptation to wear a beret. When given an opportunity to dress with “ je ne cest quoi” or be chic, you take it!! I am just joking around, but it is always fun to dress the part!!!
Now, my question to you darlings…
What is/are your spring must-have item(s)????
Well, I must run… school is slowly getting the best of me! Just a little bit longer and then it is summer time!!!
Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Day!!!
With Love...
Marta

Can’t wait for spring to start!! It’s already sunny, but still freezing outside. I’ll be reorganizing my closet in the easter break.
My must haves are dresses, flats and trench coats. I’m really in a romantic mood lately, so I want to wear colors and floral dresses.

You look gorgeous, Marta! (still can’t get over that chic little beret!)
I love your attitude for shopping — want vs. need — it’s a smart way to buy only
what you love and will love to wear. I am starting to do the same thing, thanks to
your great advice
A few must-haves for spring include:
* Michael Kors Olympia + Opal flats
* A white dress
* Chloe shorts
* A soft colored, neutral trench
Just a few…
xo,
Sarah

The beautiful leather jacket!!!
I just did a closet makeover yesterday and am in the process of selling off what I no longer wear/like. I take back what I said about Nina Garcia’s third book being repetitive. It’s really rather inspirational! lol Did you know she’s coming out with a fourth?
I already have it pre-ordered on Amazon, and can’t wait!
I’ll admit I’m looking for ballerina flats as well. They are always my favourites. I remember the first paycheque I got from my very first job. I spent half of it on a pair of heels and two pairs of ballerina flats. lol Apart from that, I really want a trench coat/spring coat, and was dying to see Soia & Kyo’s new collection. I hate to say it, but their current collection is really limited, and disappointing to me.

Hi Cordelia,
I had no idea, thanks for telling me … I can’t wait until it comes out! That’s exciting. With Soia& Kyo I was also surprised that their collection wasn’t bigger :S

I recently say your Mackage leather jacket in white at winners. I was really excited, but then discovered that there was a rip in it
The jacket looks amazing and I am jealous of both this jacket and the Mike & Chris. You have impeccable taste!!
Your style inspires me and I hope to try and adopt a more classic closet thanks to you.

Hi Lauren,
Awww….thank you so much for such sweet words, they mean more to be then I can explain! Thank you!
P.S. I saw it too and then I noticed a rip as well, so unfortunate as it is a beautiful jacket. That’s why I am so paranoid about details, there’s nothing worse then buying something you love and discovering that it is damaged.

I have the same jacket in army green, but can’t seem to work it into my wardrobe. I’m thinking of selling it

Awww… I am sorry. If it is not working for you then the best choice is probably to sell. You can always find one that you will love

Love your outfit! Comfortable and simply chic. The boots are super cute. I can’t believe you forgot about them. Don’t worry about the video. You write so well so I am sure you will be even better when you speak on the video! I want to try a vlog too, but I am shy…haha =) xo

I spy sherway!
I have always loved your juicy boots! I remember reading them when you first picked them up and what a great deal!
For spring, I am looking for tailored high-waisted shorts and definitely some light-weight silk or chiffon button shirts. Also, a pair of brown/tan platform heels! (I already have my eye on a pair!)
I’m so happy that its starting to get warmer out again! Great outfit as usual <3
