Chaotic…

Hello Lovelies,

After a long night and a lovely morning, I am once again writing into the night...starting this week up until May 5 (last day of finals) I am bombarded with work. On May 6, I am leaving for a family vacation to Ukraine... I am so excited, I can't wait to see my family and friends... I've missed them soooo much :) I am really looking forward to the trip but not to the 11 hour flight... yuk, hate flying.

I though I would share my excitement with you guys, but I would also like to apologize for not being able to respond quickly to your amazing comments. Your comments and suggestions always brighten up my day and from the bottom of my heart I would like to say " THANK YOU"

New Shapes
Now onto my Spring shopping...well I am trying to experiment with different shapes and textures. This weekend I spend some quality time shopping with my mommy and ended up picking up a few things from my "Spring to- buy list"

I am really excited about these cropped, satin, soft, slouchy, pajama-like, harem style pants (lol)... they are amazingly comfortable and are definitely going to replace my favorite pair of black skinnies.

I broke my first fashion commandment...the moment I tried on these babies, until I checked the label which left memortified... they were partly polyester.I was ready to walk away but I loved them so much....so my mommy talked me into giving them a chance... and so I did on Saturday night, when I wore this outfit out. As bothered as I am to break my own commandment. I must admit they do feel nice and don't wrinkle in the way silk and linen pants do... although I don't think that I am warming up to the idea of wearing polyester, I must admit that there's always an exception to every rule .... man-o-man !!!! lol

I am wearing: Armani Exchange Satin Pants; Armani Exchange Silk Blouse; DKNY Silk Cami (underneath); Bloch patent leather flats; A.V. Max Cuff; Diamond Studs.

As for the top, well I was dying to find the perfect sheer blouse and I did. I got both pieces at Armani Exchange... and I must admit the spring collection is really cute and the quality is fantastic.

Two thumbs up for Mr. Armani for coming up with such a cute and affordable line :)

But I need your help..... I am pretty shy and although I would love to wear the top with the pretty bra for a night out... do you think it is too much? Honestly... pretty please :)

Bra or Camisole?

As for the most exciting part, well those are my Bloch flats...I much admit I am going to live in them this summer. I adore them. I used to dance ballet in Bloch shoes and now being able to wear them on the street just takes me back to my dancing days :) They are definitely the most comfortable and chic flats ever...so worth every penny.

Well, I am off for tonight to do some more writing...

I wish you all a relaxing and beautiful evening!!!
With Love...
Marta

Perfect Mornings…

Good Morning Darlings,

It is 5:35 am ( Toronto,Canada) and my day is starting/ending on a pretty wonderful note. While the city is still half asleep and there's not much noise out...I am enjoying listening to the birds chipping outside my window, while I am finishing up my art critique.
Definitely the first sign of spring... :)

I just can't help but smile... and since there's no one to share this moment with, I decided to share it with you :)

It still amazes me as to how random and tiny thing always make me sooo happy...

P.S. Hope, I am making sense...since I am barely aware, trying to finish my tazo sweet orange tee.

I am off to bed for few hours... but another post coming up a little later today :)

I wish you all beautiful day!!!

With Love...
Marta

Sunday Randomness…

Hello Lovelies,

I was just going over some of my books in my " book collection" and just wanted to share one quote with you, hehe.... so not fashion related, but such a powerful quote.

I adore this quote by D.H. Lawrence from " Lady Chatterley's Lover"

" Ours is essentially tragic age, so we refuse to take it tragically. The cataclysm has happened,
we are among the ruins, we start to build up new little habits, to have new little hopes. It is rather hard work: there is now no smooth road into the future: but we go round, or scramble over the obstacles. We've got to live, no matter how many skies have fallen."

Speaking of books... I already made up my summer reading list, haha... I know I am an über loser, but I can't help myself... I really LOVE reading. So here we go:

  • Vanity Fair - William Makepeace Thackeray
  • Stealing Athena - Karen Essex
  • Murder on the Orient Express - Agatha Christie
  • And Then There Were None - Agatha Christie
  • 4:50 from Paddington - Agatha Christie
  • The Beautiful and the Damned - F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • Money -Martin Amis
  • Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov
  • The Collection - Gioia Diliberto
  • Consuelo - George Sand
  • An American Tragedy - Theodore Dreiser
  • Camille - Alexander Dumas
  • The Complete Works of Guy de Maupassant

I am always looking for something new and interesting to read...I would really appreciate if you guys would leave me some suggestion. I am open to any kind of a read :)

I wish you all a lovely Sunday!!!
With Love...

Goody Two-Shoe… :P

Hey Darlings,

With a university year coming to an end, school is always in the back of my head and this is starting to reflect in my wardrobe including the shoes, lol.

On my way to catch my Renaissance class and then a Starbucks date...I came to realize that my outfit was screaming, " Hello, I am a goody two-shoe" .... And I LOVED it!!! lol

I think that the preppy side in me always tends to break loose every so often and today was the day.

I am Wearing: Talula Babaton Wool Blazer; Club Monaco cashmere scarf and top( I wore a simple black top underneath); J Brand Pencil leg jeans; Juicy Couture Cheer Wool Flat; diamond studs; A.V. Max Cuff.

Playing up my hair with two-french braids and a pony, a monogrammed blazer, and shoes stating " JUICY School of Couture" (it does say that in the back, lol...so appropriate for school, lol).

P.S. By the way, to those of you wondering, the flats are actually warm and really soft... with suede lining and a normal sole. I absolutely adore them, definitely no an average flat.

I marched into my Renaissance class, sat in my usual second row...and I must admit, I've felt more productive in that one lecture than I did in the whole week and I am convinced that it was all because of my outfit and the goody two-shoe attitude.... haha.

I did wear my wayfarers to complete the look...just on the side note, I didn't wear them inside and could never understand those who do.

Do you match your outfit to your mood?

P.S. I got my Bloch Ballerinas and felt like a kid on Christmas Day.... I can't wait to show them to you guys. They are stunning and I am sooooo excited :)

Boy, I wish I can have an awesome study space like that with that incredible book shelf(I collect books ). I started re-doing my room last summer and I have yet to finish organizing it, maybe this summer I will have more luck.

Special Thank You

I would also like to send out a special thank you to KK from Hard on the Heart, Soft to the Touch ( click to check it out) for the lovely post she did on the Spring/Summer Inspirations: Color Trends. THANK YOU !!!

Well...duty calls.

I wish you all a beautiful day :)
With Love...

Gallery Hopping…

Hello Lovelies,

I am proud to announce that I have finally bought my Art Gallery of Ontario membership and payed a visit on Sunday morning to check out Boucher's Les Sabots for my critique. The gallery was recently re-done by the famous Frank Gehry and I must admit it is quite impressive. In some ways it resembles Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim Museum... it must be that spiral staircase( lol) in others it has that Guggenheim, Bilbao futuristic feeling.

I can't wait to take the architectural tour.... so exciting !!! and every other tour that they offer and buy up all of their catalogs.

Conservative with a twist

As for my outfit it was comfortable and conservative, but I did try something different with my hair...

I really loved what they did with the hair at Carolina Herrera (spring 09) and decided to try it myself but by adding a girly twist - a ponytail, instead of tucking away my hair. It is comfortable and neat, and would definately work perfectly in the summer when it is humid.

I am wearing: Soia & Kyo jacket; Ralph Lauren Top; French Connection Trousers; Michael Kors Oxfords; Accessories &Beyond Bracelets in Gold.

Seriously, if you need a quick get away to spend some time alone and just contemplate about all things beautiful or whatever just pay your local gallery a visit... you'll be surprised as to how awesome you will feel after. For me, this trip definitely reinforced my passion for art and architecture in ways that I never expected...I just hope that my future allows me to continue to discover and work in such wonderful environment.

As for now, I am off to work on my critique...

I wish you all a wonderful day !!!!

With Love...
